  1. Hey how are you? all is well here... I gotta tell ya though, I am starving all the time, my stomach is constantly growling. I have no restriction and I can eat ANYTHING, plus I got my period... so I am definitly in bandster hell!

I gained 1lb one day, then 2 days later lost 2 then gained 1... so I'm back where I started a week ago...lol.

Anyhoo, hope all is well with you, keep me posted. take care :)

  4. yes, my stomach is growling as we speak...lol

When do you get your first fill? I still have another 3 weeks before i get mine. :( If it was up to my doc I'd still be on liquids..yikes! I have no will power for that, if I did i wouldnt need a band! lol

  5. That's great! So did the 3cc's make a difference? It sounds like you have a great doctor, if it was up to mine I would still be on liquids.. I just couldnt!! I am hungry all the time, and cannot wait for my first fill... but that's not until June 20somthing...

Anyhoo.. I am so happy to hear that you are doing well. Are you continuing to lose the weight?

  6. Hey, so glad to hear all is well. I have started eating mushies, but not becs my doc said, I would be on protein shakes for 3 weeks. I looked up info and also asked around, a lot op people are on mushies by day 10, so I kinda moved myself. I am doing great, have been doing the eliptical machine and treadmill 30 min every day. Today I am back to work and will add another 30 min of walking at lunch time.

As far as weight loss, I am at 17lbs since my preop, my weighloss did stop as soon as I week one ended... :( but I am not disapointed, I know it will come.

It's cool that you get to see your doc now, I dont get to see him until week 3, I did find that kinda weird, but since I have no issues, I guess it's ok.

Well let me know how it goes tomorrow. Take care :) keep me posted of your progress.

  7. Food stages are good, I have basically been living off cottage cheese and eggs for the last 4 days. umm they are all so yummy so far, I was really looking forward to somthing other than that protein shake. How about you? what food staage are you on now? any yummy suggestions?

  8. Oh, and I did forget to tell you that I am very glad that you are doing well. :)

  9. OMG! the gas pains.... AWEFUL! I had them for about 11 days. My surgery was on a Tuesday, the following Sunday I walked A LOT, and it felt worse, but that evening it all started coming out. Gas-X and Dulcolax helped a lot as well. As bad as they may feel, they will go away.. that was the only bad/worst part of this whole thing.

Hope those tips help you out a bit, and if you have ANY questions what so ever, please don't hesitate to ask, that's why I joined this site. Good luck and I hope you feel beter. :)

  10. Kerry, can you wear your jeans yet? lol... I thought I was the only one... I lost 12lbs and they are tighter than before the surgery..haha

    good!! it's not just me!

  11. Hi there, Hope all went well today. I'm a few days ahead of you so feel free to contact me with any questions. Take care :)

  12. Hey girl! So how's post op treating you? We had surgery on the same date and was curious as to how you are feeling and what foods you are on, if any? keep me posted. Hope all went well.

  13. Hey Kirstina, How have you been? How is post-op treating you?

  14. How's everything doing? so i started eating cottage cheese and poached eggs... I'm cheating cause my doc said no mushies until week 3, but I am starving, so I've been careful. Anyhoo, total of 12lbs since may 11th which was my surgery date. 17 since Pre-op, 24 Since Jan..hehe :)

  15. So how's your port pain? Are you doing ok?

  16. Hey thanks for checking on me. I am doing great, one week post op yesterday. Had a lot of gas discomfort / pain last weekend but a lot better now. I am starting to get hungry, so I cheated with a poached egg and thicker soups, it felt great!

How about you? How are you doing? have you gotten a fill yet? keep me p0sted :)

  17. I'm doing quite well. My first fill is 6 weeks post off, so I think thats some time at the end of June. I am also fighting the head hunger, but I just keep reminding myself that I didn't do this to mess it up.

I have talked to other gals who had the surger and their docs ok'd soft foods after a week or so, so since mine wont do it, I kinda cheated with poached eggs today and some thicker soups. My doc didnt even want me to blend anything... get real!! hehe

Well I am glad to hear that you are doing better, keep me posted on your post op process. :)

  18. Yeah.... it's tough with the liquid, my doctor would not even let me have thicker soups like tomato or anything that goes in the blender, but to be honest with you by day 6 I did eat the thicker soups, I was starving. Today day eight I cheated as well, I ate two poached eggs, those went down super smooth and didnt feel bad at all. I dont know how he expects these three weeks with almos clear liquids... Oh well. I am feeling great. Still have some gas, but not too bad.

Your 25 lbs sound AWESOME, I am sooo happy for you. Keep up the good work, you can do it!

  19. hey all is well, i am feeling a lot better thank you. my stomach is still bloated, but gas pains are better. Shoulder is another story. I am getting super hungry, my doc told me that I cannot eat blended soups or anything, but I had to... way too hungry. How long before you could eat soft foods? what about blended soups and stuff?

How are you feeling now a days? are doing well? what about scale, is it moving? well gotta run get the kids, you take care and keep in touch.

  20. How are you feeling? checking in on you :)

  21. I have been banded for 6 days. I asked my doctor about this pain prior to surgery, he explained that all nerves in the body are connected. This is reflective pain. When ever the mouth of your stomach and that area hurt, you feel it in your shoulder. Perfectly normal, but literally a pain. Mine does seem to happen after I have a large portion of liquid ( which is all I am allowed right now) so it makes sense, it the band tightens, it hurts, and since it's reflective pain, I feel it in my shoulder. It does help when I put a heating pad on. Good luck to everyone who is experiencing this, hope this info helps a little.
  22. Need help guys... how on earth do I get rid of the bloatness and the gas pains?? I have tried walking, gas x and even stool softner... NOTHING! I am soooo uncomfortable because of this... nothing seems to help...

  23. Hi everyone!! well it's done.. now to deal with this gas pain... not too aweful, tolearable... just a pain... literally..hehe

  24. thank u.. well its done.. so far so good. no pain, just bloated w gas. how r u doing so far?

    Mixed Feelings

Ok so tomorrow is my big day... and after my surgery being postponed once for a bladder infection, my feelings these time are completely different.... I am not as excited, and I am truly afraid. Not afraid of the surgery, but afraid of failure, afraid that after all this, I won't have restriction, or maybe that I won't care that I have restriction and I will still over eat; afraid of not losing weight. Has anyone felt that ? and if so, what was your outcome after the surgery? To top it off, my husband who had jury duty today, and who has not been 100 % of my surgery, now will not be with me during my surgery tomorrow... his jury duty extends through tomorrow... So I'll be alone. No other family members in the state. My close friend from work said she'd come by and check on me... super sweet of her, don't know what I would do without her... Anyhoo... just scared.... wish me luck tomorrow 5/11/10. Thank you for reading my boring worries :wink2:
