  1. Get yourself some gas x.
  2. After a fill, you must always drink water to make sure it goes down. Do not just leave the office.Your pouch can only hold so much. NOT AS MUCH AS YOU CAN STUFF IN IT. Eat only 1 cup of food at a time. That is it. Eat protein first, then veggies and fruit. NO to Bread, pasta rice. cookies soda, cake. ect. potatoes also adios. NO drinking with the food or right after eating either. Eat that 1 cup of food, expecting yourself to be satisfied NOT FILLED UP> Chew your food and make sure you chew it good. Fish is good. Steak and chicken not so good. Focus on getting nutrition into your body first and formost., not junk. ASk how big your band is. Ask how much they are putting in at a time. Is this a lapband dr who is doing this or the nurse? What do you mean by sugar issues? are you eating sugar food or do you have diabetes? I hope I have not come on too strong for you.,...I am concerned. If I can lose weight so can you....and I am 64 years old. and old people lose slowly Iiene
  3. Did they give you fills? I lived in East Tennessee for 5 years but live in Florida. What did the doc say?
  4. could you email me At Lizybird@aol.com?
  5. Hey Elyse, Thanks for sending that map and inf on the fairy penguins. I have the lapband from Allergan. It comes in 2 sizes 10 cc and 13cc. The Realize band only has one. I am happy with what I have since I do not know the difference. What do you do for fun? Do you go to school? Do you work? What are your dreams? By 21 I had a child and by 24 I had 2. I was married at 19. That is all I knew. I was never pushed to do anything but marry the man that I knew from age 15. I am not married to him but was for 14 years. I am married to a man who is very kind and has been a tremendis help in this weight loss venture. I am back to how I used to look. I was not always obese either. I was about 135. but now I weigh more and have muscles. I am retired after working at diagnostic testing companies. I wish I could get a job. It is hard to find one lately. We have a darling little poodle dog. Her name is Cinnamon Emylinda. We call her Cindy. Bye for now..
  6. Best answers.. I have the same thing..Do the Biotin deal.
  7. Love you, love your blog. I feel the same way...I wernt to the Las vegas meet and greet last year. Not going this year. I hope that ou find Tamika Bryant my friend. Have a great day. Keep up the good work.
  8. I do not eat meat. or bread and chips are not good for me. i have to maintain my 98 lbs. loss. I might try for a total of 93 lbs. I'll see how it goes. I have made my lapband diet, program a lifetime situation. At my age , I am not going to do the yo yo effect. I would be sick with diabetes and heart problems if I didnt lose it. i am no spring chicken like you are. What is a fairy penguin ? Ray asked if you were near the Adelaide? Not sure what that is either.
  9. It is natural to be scared. We are all here for you. Just ask. Let us know how you are.
  10. hi again, I just asked him Sydney and Cairns not sure if I spelled it right.
  11. South Florida is very nice. It is Ft Lauderdale. If there is a newscast about South Florida, it is mostly about us or Miami...Most of the time we have weather about 75-85. Except for Jan and Feb, it might go to 68. But Aug to Oct ~~ We might see 90. We really get used to it. I have been a Floridian for over 35 years. We mainly go out in the morning. What about where you live? My hubby went to where you live about 15 years ago. I have not been.
  12. Lapbands take time.Restricton is ot automatic, it takes time also. In the am it is tight, in the pm it is looser. Warm liquids ake it lose. Cold makes it tight. My suggestion to you regrding you being able to eat too much. Measure your food. You should NOT be stuffing your self at all when you have a little bit of restircton.. Try 1 cup of food at t a time. What are your proirties right now? Eating food or losing weight. Maybe you need to really have to talk with the nurse. Does she have a lapband? Only you and you alone know what kind of restrictioin you have or do not have/ I believe you./.....Why not write these things down every time yoiu have a meal and bring it to her. A picture is worth 1,000 words. good luck...Don't eat too much.
  13. I do not know what problems you are having. Your weight loss sounds good to me.
  14. For 2years and almost 3 months...I live in usa. South Florida.
  15. My happy weight would have been 155 but I don't think I will get there. I only have a few more llbs to get to 165. At 64 years old I have to think about how my face will sag. I am happy that I am thinner and healthier now. But my persona is not happy. I like the way I look. But I don't like the way I think. Its a struggle.
  16. Wow. I hope you are well. I never heard of a person getting lapband so young. I am happy that you are happy. Where do you live? You are very pretty.
  17. This is so great for you both to do. And for such a low amount out of pocket. For the amount of weight you both need to lose. I think lapband is perfect. If you were in my living room right now I would tell youi to go for it. Regarding you not recovering fast enough (those are my words not yours) I would not worry. Since you have been working I do not think it will be a problem./ i will talk about me right now. I was 62 yes old. I was not working at the time. But we were walking 1.5 miles am and pm. daily. After the surgery, during the evening I was walking again. A little slow cause I was nervous. But It was in my head. (((did the font just change)) ??? Any how. I didnt have to take all the pain pills. I went and broke them in half. I was very concerned about getting constipated from too many pain pills. (((and you should also)))) I took them at night to help me sleep cause I sleep like crap. I had a little discomfort by the slits. there will be 5. My doc used glue to close them up. And at times it pinched when I moved. But I was able to get around really well.. This is not Gartic bypass, it is really not a big surgery. i would not worry about this. And I would not let this hinder me from ding what I needed for my future. I wish both of you lots of luck. Please if you woudl like to ask me anything. You can also find me at lizybird@aol.com. Ilene
  18. After the band you all might have a problem with chicken getting stuck. It usually is dry so some of us use mayo. (i do) But all food must be pulverized. After you have sufficient restriction that food will stay in the pouch and slowly it come out. You should be able to wait at least 4 hours until next meal. Fish is easier to chew and pulverize. Rember to plan on eating until you are satisfied not FULL. This lapband is not about stuffing yourself. It is about eating less and being happy with less food. And mostly doing it right and following the rules. No bread ugh. No soda bad. Anyone who needs me for help I can be reached at lizybird@aol.com..... also on sparkpeople.com lapband surgery group. I am coleader Name is missilene. you will have fun with recipes and exercises and learn so much about every thing. and find lots of friends with lapband.
  19. Please you new gals.....I do not know if you are reading other posts, but alot of you gals are getting constipated....For your own sake. Be carefull. take all precautions not to have this. I know that no one likes to talk about it. But it is better before than after.
  20. I want you all to know that I am so happy for all of you. I have been reading about post op patiient that are having bouts of Constipation... Please take heed. The pain pills that they give you will do this. Also drink alot of Water. After surgery you will have very little in your body and you very well might get it also. Prune juice will be good since you will be on a liquid diet first, and then mushie stuff. Please do not think this is a joke cause it is not. Ilene
  21. time will only tell if your body will go to the potty. Keep doing wht the instructions tell you. What is your other choice...walk drink water, prune juice.
  22. I would call uhc and find out about your BARIATRIC BENEFITS. THOSE ARE THE WORDS.. What ever you do, do not let them give you flimsy answers. Also the administrator of the human resources where you work should know the beneftits. Also the surgeons office has some one there that knows what each insurance company pays and which surgery it will pay. Look for seminars where you live. Try to get friendly with the Dr's office staff. Find someone who will help you. When I was going to have surgery, I did all the testing and then found out that my boss got rid of all Bariatric coverages. That ended that. I had to pay out of pocket $10,000.00 for the lapband. What ever you do. DO NOT GIVE UP until some one who knows tells you what kind of coverage you have or if you do not have any...Be strong. This wls is very worth your time. I am 64 years old now. I have had the lapband 2 years 2 months already. good luck
  23. What ever you do. Drink water. Take fiber, Maybe yoiu can get some prune juice. Avoid constipaton at all costs.
