Thanks, I took milk of magnesia about an hour ago. Hoping it will help. Is it something I am eating? Or not eating? I still am on a semi mush diet. Testing waters slowly with other foods.

I think for me it was because I was on liquids 48 hours prior to surgery and on liquids after...there simply wasn't enough going in. I thought about it and I probably ate enough calories on 3 weeks of what I would normally eat in a weekend.

Pain killers can really constipate you, couple that with the stress of surgery, anesthetic, and drastic change in diet and it's miracle everyone isn't constipated after being banded.

I took Colace daily until I had a BM after surgery. If the MOM doesn't kick in, you might want to try the Colace tomorrow. It's a softner not a stimulant laxative.

Thanks for all the advice. I am very uncomfortable. So I really appreciate it.

I am still trying to figure out this app. But I really appreciate all the

Posts I read. Never had so much support. Thank you

Miralax works well and is gentle.

Yes colace everyday is good. and so is miralax in your protein shake. Sometimes I eat 1/2- 1 prune. they are high in sugar and carbs. I also continue to take. vitafusion brand fiber gumies. they taste good I take 2 at night and 2 in the am...I get them at cvs or costco.. I have 220 gummies in the pack it is sugar free also. Consitipation is not good for the rectum, It creates hemmroids. etc and other bad things. you don't have to have. Fiber is very imp.

I suffered from constipation in the beginning and still do because of medication.

I take Collace nightly.

It's VERY a very mild "stool" softener but works great. Many doctors and pharmacists recommend it.

You can get it at the drug store over the counter.

Ice storm

I took one dose around 2 today and it got things moving. But very slowly. I'm sure I will need to take several doses to feel normal again

Get some Mira Lax and you can take that with your Water or crystal light. With that and MOM that worked for me thank god :) at least things are starting to look better for you. Another good thing to have on hand is metamucil they have this one in berry flavor and it is yummy.

If you are on the LoraTab that makes you constipated as well hope things get better for you soon.

Ooo yah I see it everyday in the hospital. Antibiotics will make you go and pain killers stop everything.

time will only tell if your body will go to the potty. Keep doing wht the instructions tell you. What is your other choice...walk drink water, prune juice.

Hi. It can be a shock going from daily to once every 4-5 days before a bowel movement. For me I have tried prune juice early on but have a sip of milk of magnesium daily. It still takes at least 4 days but isn't as uncomfortable as it has been. I'm 22 days post op.

I do weight myself daily but am aware that since I dont have a daily BM, I can't expect the scales to go down all the time:)
