  1. Jealous! I have only lost 8!!
  2. I have a question. I was sleeved 6/10 and I am not having any problems getting my fluids down. Like i cannot gulp, buy i can already take regular sized drinks of water. I have never felt pressure of pain. I guess it just scares me that I can do this already and maybe my sleeve is larger than it should be? I have lost 8 pounds since surgery. But I nervous since I am not having the tightness others are.
  3. I was NPO in the hospital on surgery day, the day after I had my swallow eval and the did not see a leak so I was OK to start clear liquids. I did clears for that day only and then moved on to full (thin) liquids day 3 and beyond. Right now my current schedule looks like this: 6am I get up, take my Prevacid, and fill up my 32 ounce Water cup. I sip on the water until 8am 7am I take my Multivitamin and continue sipping water 8am I drink my first Protein shake. This takes me until 9:30 usually. 10am I take my B12 and start sipping water again 12pm I drink my second protein shake 1:30-2:00pm (ish) I start sipping water again 4pm I drink another shake 6pm I have 1/4 cup of strained Cream of whatever soup 7:00: Keep on sipping that water!! 10:00 Take my second prevacid and my other night time meds.
  4. I went down 1/2 a size with my lap band.
  5. Oh my goodness!! You sound so similar to me! I was banded 4/14/10 and I LOVED my band. Ended up slipping it last year due to having the flu and getting sick 8 times in one night. I ended up with bad acid reflux and had to have the band unfilled so that I could heal it out. I had two more unfills, and proceeded to fill it again. Last time, I left it unfilled because I could not tolerate the fills. I began having esophageal and stomach ulcers due to the acid reflux even with it unfilled. I decided to have the lap band removed and my sleeve done all in one surgery which was also done on June 10th! I have to say this was a slower healing process than the lap band but, 5 days out I feel pretty good!! I am able to get my proteins and liquids in, but I am struggling on getting the calories in.
  6. I was sleeved June 10th and I was feeling so good yesterday!! Today I decided to go into work for 3 hours. (I am a wound nurse) And let me tell you. I am now exhausted!! I think I am gonna take a nap and relax now. I really thought I would be ok with returning to work, but nope! I even had an aide come in so I did not have to push/pull/lift patients. I am waiting on my energy to come back!
  7. My user name is Purrplelover.
  8. Good Luck! You will do GREAT!
  9. I cannot say after the sleeve, but I had my gall bladder taken out 4 months and 4 days after my lap band was put in. I can say that recovery was much easier and quicker. I had it on Wednesday and was back to work on Monday. I was up and cleaning my house 1 day post op. You will be able to get through it much quicker than the sleeve. Compared to being sleeved, my gall bladder removal was a piece of cake!
  10. Just keep sipping on something as often as possible. I keep a cup full of water with me at all times, and I am always sipping at it. You will make it to 64 ounces of fluid you just need to keep trying. And burping is now something I do all the time. That part sucks.
  11. Yep, I gained around 6 pounds. But today I got on the scale and realized I have lost those 6 pounds, and an extra two! Feels great! I was banded 6/10/13 so I am only a couple of days out so far. It will come off sooner than you think!
  12. Yesterday I felt awful too. I drank all of my fluids and got all of my protein in. I did not get all of my calories in, but I am working on that today. I am able to count my protein as fluids and protein, so that is helping me a lot. I felt like I was sipping all the time yesterday. Just keep trying and you will get it in. I was banded 6/10/13 too.
  13. I gained weight too. I gained like 6 pounds, but today I dropped two of the six. I just had surgery 6/10/13. I am hoping by the end of this week, I will be lower than I was prior to surgery.
  14. I was itchy all over while I was in the hospital. I got some IV benadryl and it helped me to sleep through the pain too. I agree with the other posters though, if you are this far out it is probably the incisions healing.
  15. Good Luck!! Prayers for a safe surgery and a quick recovery coming your way!
  16. I feel exactly the same way. I have to keep my med schedule straight. Along with not drinking water for 15 minutes before I drink a protein shake, and then waiting 30 more minutes. I am not sure how to fit it all in. I just keep plugging away at it the best that I can.
  17. I am from Cincinnati, and I am 1 day post op. Lost 11pounds on my pre-op diet.
  18. Good Luck!!! As soon as you are able walk!!!! It truly helped me with my pain. I hardly have any shoulder/gas pain.
  19. Mine is a month of liquid, a month of purée, a month of soft and then finally on regular food!!
  20. One thing I wish I had packed but didn't was listerine. My mouth was the so dry, and I was not able to eat/drink until after my X-ray to check for leaks. I felt much better after I got the nurse to Bring me some.
  21. Thank you all! I did not sleep well last night, so I looking forward to being in my own home tomorrow. Otherwise I feel great. Now I just have to the barium test to check for leaks!
