  2. Thanks Suzie. You guys have already helped me to feel like I can do this. Sorry about the nasty Protein shake. I need to start doing this too. I do not eat Breakfast either right now so I guess I will start adding that to my list of things to change. I am starting to watch my portion sizes and increase my protein. I also need to do more activity, so I am planning on doing my walk away the pounds DVD tonight since it is miserable and rainy outside.
  3. I am so glad that I saw this post. I am right where you are. I was banded in 4/2010. I lost 114 pounds. I have managed to gain 37 pounds back. That may not seem like a big deal, but I went from a loose size 12 to a size 16. I am back working with my doctor and nurses to get back to where I need to be and to start working with my band again. I know it will require a lot of work on my part, but I am determined to work with the tool I was given.
  4. Well I did not lose as much as I wanted this month. Most of this is because I have not totally managed my diet, but I have gotten a better grasp on it. Next month will be better! Feb. 1st: 221 Feb. 8th: 209.6 Feb. 15th: 220 Feb. 22nd: 216.4 Feb. 23rd: 216.6

  6. I had a barium swallow done which confirmed that was the case. Then they did a complete unfill for 3 weeks. Now we are slowly putting the fluid back in the band.
  7. Ugh today was bad!! Breakfast: 1/2 C. Cottage Cheese Lunch: Tall Starbucks White Chocolate Mocha, and a chocolate bar. (I know, that is bad) Snack: 1/3 of a slim Jim Supper: 4oz Salmon with dill and a little bit of corn. Tomorrow will be better. I packed my lunch box full of healthy food!!
  8. Well This week did not turn out well. I had to end my liquid diet before my fill, so I ate too much. But I finally got a fill on the 15th. So now I feel so much better with my band back!! Goal weight for February 28th~210 Weight on February 1st~221 Weight on February 8th~220 Pounds lost~ 1
  9. Symptoms of a dilated pouch are heartburn, being able to eat more than you should, and being hungry all the time. I also had the bonus of aspirating on my stomach contents (fluids) in the early morning while I slept.
  10. I did full liquids with protien shakes. I drank 5 shakes a day with a lot of water in between. I was refilled Friday and so far, I feel great!! Doing Mushies now.
  11. Mine was 5 160 calorie shakes per day for two weeks prior. Liquid the week after, then a week of mushiness, then a week if soft foods, then solids.
  12. And realize that alcohol will affect you so much more now. You are not eating as much to slow down the digestion.
  13. I have had that happen. Make sure you are not warming within three hours of going to bed and go see your doc. You may need a small unfill. You are probably too tight. If this is the case, it could lead to a dilated pouch. Been there and am currently dealing with that.
  14. Purrplelover checking in!! Goal weight for February 28th~210 Weight on February 1st~221 Weight on February 8th~209.6 Pounds lost~ 11.4!! I am restarting my band and did the all liquid protien shake diet all week to prepare me for my up coming fill next Friday. I think u would like to lose 2 pounds this week.
  15. I concur, sounds like you may be just a smidge too tight. All the advice you have gotten is great!
  16. You need to see your doctor. I know it is not cheap. I am self-pay myself and have to pay 75 dollars everytime I see my doctor. I think it is very important that you see him to avoid long-term problems that could cost you even more.
  17. Name, real or screen~Purrplelover Goal weight for February 28th~ 210 Weight on February 1st~221 Age~34 Dietary goal for February~ to get restriction back and eat three small meals a day Exercise goal for February~ Start working out Personal goal for February~ to regain confidence and restart my weight loss after having a pouch dilation and all the Fluid removed from my band. Date banded~ 04/14/2010 Total weight loss since banding/pre op diet~ 73 pounds What is your favorite Valentine's Day activity?~ spending time with my family.
  18. I am so sorry to hear that. You did nothing wrong, so it sucks you have to go through this. Praying for a speedy recovery and that fixing the port fixes the problem. **hugs**
  19. It took me about 3 days to sleep in my bed. I did take some pain meds prior, but the lowest dose. It helped to make me comfortable enough to sleep. I also had my husband there in the morning to help get me out if bed. I quickly learned that I had to roll out if my bed rather than sit up.
  20. Celebrex is a cox-2 inhibitor so it is one of the safest NSAIDS available now. I agree with checking with your surgeon, but you should be ok.
  21. Enjoy it then!
  22. Congrats!! I usually get the salad bowls at chipotle. I love them, and one bowl makes enough for me to have atleast 4 meals out of. Not bad when you consider 6 dollars gives you 4 meals!! Enjoy every bite!!
  23. I am really not sure exactly how or when it happened. I would guess I just overate a couple of times and that did it? But I always try not to eat once I begin to feel full. I really can't say what did it.

  25. So, after losing 114 pounds, I found myself hungry all the time, gaining weight and suffering from the worst heartburn ever. I had gotten complacent in my diet, I will admit that, but I still felt like something else was wrong. Went back and had a barium swallow done. Turns out i am dilated. I have has all of my fluid removed for the next three weeks. I have had my band for two years and decided that now is the time to "restart" my band. I am going to do the presurgery diet until I get fills again, and just start over. Has anyone else done this? Has it worked? I hope this will reset my thinking back to being newly banded and help to lose the pounds I have gained. Please give me your opinions.
