I don't have a lapband story yet - except that i've been overweight for way too long; when my best friend, out of concern, saw how hard it was for me to even go upstair anymore, she wrote me a long email that told me she wanted to help me anyway she could to lose weight so i wouldn't hurt so much anymore.  That was in September 2009 - I lost, and gained, and lost and gained... getting discouraged very easily.  I've seen the results of gastric by pass surgery, and was willing to do that - but was also frightened.  So I want to learn more about the band - some of which i already have from a member on this site - i think i am going to try to get my BMI low enough so my surgeon will let me do the band.  We are empty nesters - and i want to feel good and be able to do a ton of fun things w/ my husband of almost 30 years!!
