Well my first goal was to lose 20 lbs the first month and happy to say July 28th is one month and I have lost 21 lbs.! I know that is a fairly modest goal but happy to have done it. Now my issue is I have an appt for my first fill on Friday and I truly have good restriction and have had none of the problems which many people seem to have so I really don't want a fill. I guess I will discuss with Dr. on Friday. Good luck to everyone!

Thanks everyone. You hear so much on hear about people needing to get many fills before the band was working for them that you question whether there is something wrong with what you are experiencing. Though the more I go through this the more I realize that it really is different for every person.

I had my surgery on June 28th and have slept in the bed from the beginning. Though I never sleep on my stomach just my side or back but never a problem with either of those.

I was also told to wait 2 weeks before I could submerge in water. Which for me will be Monday.

wow 6 weeks. I had my surgery June 28 and was back to work July 6 with no problems.

I am going to go for 25 pounds which would put me at 184. Really look forward to being back in 100's!! :thumbup:

Just relax it will be ok. I am now 6 days post surgery and everything is going as well as can be expected and as of today I am 13 pounds down from my weight a week ago. Pain really has not been that bad and hunger has been little if non existent. I know this will get harder but excited about the good start. As for the surgery I had never had surgery before but everything has been very manageable and I havent had any pain meds for 2 days now and before then mainly taking to sleep at night. Also, have been going on long walks (2-3 miles) and have held up fine. Looking forward to going to gym next week and trying elliptical. Good luck you are going to do great!!

I am not quite a week out but my Doctor said no core exercises or serious weights for 2 months.

I was banded yesterday and so far so good. Yesterday was a long day and not too bad. Today I have gone for a few short walks and doing good except get tired very quickly.

I was banded yesterday June 28th. Really could not have gone smoother. I have gone for several walks and the incision site is sore especially when I get up and down but otherwise seems to be going well. Cant wait to get through this all liquid phase.

Pre-op testing all done today. Set for surgery on Monday the 28th. So lucky only have one day of liquid diet on Sunday before Monday surgery. Can't wait to get the surgery over with!!

Congratulations! I am set for surgery June 28th and I have 86 pounds to go from where I am today (130 goal). Good luck!

Getting banded June 28th by Dr. Chae in Denver. Nervous but very happy to get this done. Can't wait!

I am set for a June 28 surgery. I am not being asked to do any kind of liquid/modified diet beforehand. Is that normal?

It just took a while and then I was denied but they did not do a good job explaining the problem. Turns our all they needed was another letter from my doctor and a pre-op physical. So paperwork was turned in March 5 and I just got approved Friday May 21.

Can't believe it after starting this process back in August I am finally scheduled for surgery June 28!!!

Glad to hear there are others like me. I am having surgery in April and I am 215 now and my goal is 130. I am hoping I can have it all off in a year but I guess I will see how it goes. I am really looking forward to getting serious about working out.

Still nothing and paperwork was turned in 3/5. Getting nervous does that mean they are going to deny me. I hope not I have been waiting such a long time!

Out of curiosity what is your insurance company?

Nutritionist said no steak not no to other kinds of beef.

The only response I got from Cigna was that yes they had received my paperwork on March 5 and they had 30 business days to reply. I am going to call back again next week.

Well I have gone through the 6 month process, doctors visits, psych eval and everything was turned in March 5. Was told by Dr. office that they have 30 business days but I really hope it is sooner. I would really like to have surgery April 19 and it has already been so long. :thumbup: Fingers crossed that the approval comes through soon.:smile2:

Shane, I have gone through the 6 month process and the last thing is the class on Sunday Feb 28. I am concerned that all my material get turned into the insurance company this week. What would be the best way to check on this as no one ever answers calls or returns messages? Thanks Cheryl

Well it has been 6 long months and I am almost through the insurance approval process. Can't wait. I am really feeling like a slug and I want to get the surgery over with. Hope this works like I hope it will.
