  1. Ok well I lost 50 pounds as of the day before Thanksgiving and since that day so many things have happened both good and bad (holidays, engagement, miscarriage, vacation) that I have gained about 20 pounds back. I want to get back on track but it just seems hard to get back in that frame of mind that let me lose so many punds so quickly. Any advice? Thanks
  2. I was banded on June 28, 2010 and have lost 50lbs so far.
  3. Reached the 50lb weight loss mark this morning! Yeah I really wanted to hit that mark before Thanksgiving. Surgery was June 28 so it has taken 5 months. Which seems reasonable. I have gone from size 16/18 to size 10. At one point 135 seemed so far away but now it really seems possible if I keep doing what I am doing. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!
  4. I got approval from Cigna and didn't have any problems other than going through the 6 month wait. Not sure what kind of band I have.
  5. I completely understand. About a month ago I craved Sonic chili cheese tots. I ate them and enjoyed them and moved on and I have kept losing weight and haven't cheated again. I think that is the key..at least for me. I know I am going to make mistakes but unlike in the past I am not going to beat myself up. I just know that I am human and sometimes I will eat something I shouldn't. It's ok.
  6. I have Cigna and had no problems with them covering the surgery though I would be afraid they may make you start the 6 month process again.
  7. I definitely see changes from exercising. I can actually see and feel muscles in my arms and legs. Though not sure if I will actually ever see my abs. lol
  8. No rules as to not being able to drink. I have had a drink maybe a few times a month since surgery and no problems. That being said alcohol seems to make me hungry and so I seem to eat more than I should after drinking.
  9. I weigh myself everyday and write the number on my calendar. I feel it helps me keep on track.
  10. I have heard people say that to0 but it must have to be a lot of weight. I have lost 46 and haven't noticed any difference.
  11. Congratulations! We are very much on the same path. I didn't do a pre-liquid diet so the 45 lbs I lost is post surgery. I still have not had a fill. I have no idea of the size of my band.
  12. Just curious how everyone is doing 4 months out. I was banded June 28 so tomorrow is my 4 month anniversary and 45 pounds down. I really have been pleasantly surprised by everything and so happy I did this. Continued good luck to everyone.
  13. It is possible you will have restriction without fills. I had surgery June 28, 2010 and have yet to have a fill and have had restriction the whole time. I know there aren't many like me but from being on here I know I am not the only one who has experienced restriction the whole time.
  14. My rules are basically the same and this has been one of the hardest things to do. I have just done the best I can and once in a while I just have to take a sip though I try not to drink much.
  15. Love your post and completely agree!!!!!!!!
  16. I just got into a size 10 also. Love it!!
  17. 22 lbs in a month is pretty good. That is about what I lost my first month. I was banded June 28 and have lost 44 lbs. You just need to be patient. It isn't magic it is a tool to help you still need to make good choices and exercise and believe me it will come off. Good luck.
  18. I have been into both court houses and through airport security several times and have never had an issue.
  19. I had a plateau that lasted from Sept 6 to Sept 28 and since then have lost 3 lbs. I just watched my calories and changed up my exercising but most importantly I stayed positive. I told myself I knew I was eating right and exercising so weight loss would take off again. I was pretty proud of myself because in the past I would have gotten down and gone completely off track.
  20. No liquid diet - Start weight 222 lbs on June 28 surgery date June 28-July 28 - 198 July 29 - August 28 - 188 August 29 - October 3 - 182 Total of 40 lbs so far.
  21. Congratulations and no you are not the only one. I sometimes wondered if something was wrong because I haven't had any throwing up, sticking, etc and best of all I have not had to have a fill yet and as of this morning I have lost 40lbs since June 28. Just enjoy it because even not having any problems it is still hard work in eating right and working out. Hope it keeps going well. :smile2:
  22. I regularly eat around 1,000 calories a day. When I eat less than that my weight loss seems to stall out. I just got off a plateau and what seemed to help was switching up my exercising some and making sure I get at least 1,000 calories. I guess it is really just works for each person.
  23. I joined LA Boxing and try to go to 4 classes a week (Classes are an hour) and then I try to either hike, hit the gym, etc. on one other day a week.
  24. I have been able to eat both pizza and steak with no problem. But I know I have been lucky in that I have not had anything stick and have yet to have to have a fill. Good luck.
  25. Thanks for the replies. I know that it is a very active workout. In fact I would be more bummed except I see reall improvement in my muscle tone and cardio level. I think in general I am eating about 1,000 calories a day and while I haven't tracked exactly how much protein I am getting I try to make sure that is the main part of any meal.
