Does this look ok? This is me 27 lbs down from my starting weight. I have so far to go. It's a long road, right? I will be buying good undergarments for under this thing and working my rear end off so it looks better that day!

It is possible. I didn't have Humana but I was required to pay 20% after my 1000 deductible was met with a maximum out of pocket of 1,750.00. My doctor's office has financing options for patients so you may wanna check on that with your doctor, too. Good luck

Good plan, do what it takes and make sure you're getting your protein in with those 1000-1200 calories. -
Mr doctor's office gave me a book called "The Lap-Band solution Book" by Dr. Paul O'Brien. I loved it and still read it from time to time

I think it is just about meeting the insurance requirements and having documentation. During that time,I took suggestions from the nutritionist, eliminated certain things from my diet, increased excercise, and truthfully journaled EVERYTHING. I may have lost five pounds in that four month period (my ins. required 4 months). I'd lose a pound one month and gain 3 the next...yo-yo totally. Don't quote me but I don't think weightloss really matters until the pre-op. My bff had LB surgery too in Nov 2009, didn't lose a pound during her six month. Another friend had Gastric in 2007 and didn't lose during the six months either. One more, my cousin had bypass last summer. It was by for by Medicaid!!! and she didn't lose weight prior.

You've gotten good advice here. I would add that you may need about three days in bed before going out and being independently mobile. I had my surgery of a Thursday and intended on going to work Monday. I did well after surgery and through that Sunday. However, the gas kicked in and I could not make it to work until the Wednesday following. So I took six days including the weekend to recuperate. The month following, I took it easy whilemy body healed. I was placed on the post op diet stages that Bklynike speaks of. The only exception was my surgeon had me drinking protein shakes after about three days post-op. It was the only thick liquid I had before moving to mushies. Good luck

Yeah I was on the preop for two weeks and lost 17 pounds. At first, I HATED it...the shakes and no food and carbs....but then When I got on the scale and saw 8 pounds gone in 4 days, I was encouraged. Keep it up, you sound like you're ready!!!
