About Me

  • Biography
    Married
  • State
    New York
As a teenager I was not over weight, but I thought I was. Before and After the birth of my first child I gained weight and continued to gain progressively as the years went on. Life style, divorce, emotional eating and just plain enjoying food took over my personality and my "I am OK with the weight" excuses~ because I was enjoying my food and who I was as a person! Then I became diabetic, got high blood pressure and high cholesterol and was told I must change my way or I will be a very sick lady. Over the past years I tried many different ways to loose weight, from 'Meds' to several different diet programs. My children even decided to hire me a personal trainer to JUMP Start my program at the gym I joined. I TRIED and Tried and Tried, But my weight kept going up and I was in limbo. Then at work a co-worker had the lap band surgery and for one year I watched her progress. She kept telling me to go to a lecture that was given by her doctor once a month  and hear what it was about but I KNEW this wasn't for me. I was not going to place something inside my body when I should be able to do this myself, I will just keep trying. As the Year progressed and I saw her incredible success and I was gaining more and more and my health was becoming out of control, I went to the lecture. I decided why not, what could it hurt. and there it was,in my face and i cried as I listened and I cried s I  heard people talk about their life and their health and their SUCCESS and their Happiness and how this has saved their life! That night I went home, my husband and I talked about it, He was not happy at first but thats for another conversation. The next day I made an appointment for a consultation and the rest is history. It is the hardest thing I have ever done, YET it is also the easiest thing I have done.   I can now look forward to a longer life, a life with better choicesThank you for listening.  Ivy G  :)
