  1. I start my pre-op diet tomorrow and I have all of my meal replacement mix ready with some recipes from my office on what we can add (fruits, honey, milk, etc). Did you have a blender at work to blend your stuff? Did you make your shakes in the morning and use refrigerator at work? I know it seems silly, but I'm an over thinking and I am trying to map out everything to a tee.
  2. Hi There! I'm also getting banded Aug. 3rd. I start my pre-op liquid diet tomorrow. I'm nervous but so ready for to move forward. I did the 6 month evaluation process and I can't believe I've finally made it this far! GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE
  3. Was anyone else told you can not take anything else but Tylenol before surgery? During my pre-op visit last Thursday I was told I only use Tylenol - it works OK, but I suffer almost migraine type of headaches a few times a week and Advil and alike work the best for me. I'm concerned about how bad my headaches will get and Tylenol not working. I think it has to do with Advil thinning your blood? Sorry for all the questions but I'm getting nervous about my upcoming surgery!
  4. I start my pre-op diet on Thursday. My allowable food is 3 shakes a day 1 control bar, unlimited liquids, sugar free jello, fat-free broth. My PA told me that I could have veggies, but I'm concerned what kind I can have. I'm assuming I can have raw or cooked(steamed) but nothing on it. Would you assume that as well? I want to follow the diet to a tee so I have no issues when I go in for surgery.
  5. I was told 7 days, so that's what I'm taking. GOOD LUCK!
  6. I official got my approval today after 6 LONG months of insurance requirements. I go in for my pre-op this Thursday and get started with my pre-op diet next week. Anyone else Aug 3rd that want to partner up in this journey?
  7. Me! I've gone through the 6 month process and got official approval today. My surgery is scheduled for Aug. 3rd. I go in for my pre-op this Thursday and then start my pre-op diet next week. I'm nervous and excited! I can't believe it's finally here.
  8. I just got my approval today! It's been a LONG 6 month insurance battle, but I'm here! Aug. 3rd is my date
  9. I just finished my 6 month insurance requirements last Thurs. July 1st. I am waiting my pre-op and surgery date. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it's before Aug. 1st GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE - I'm not far behind you.
  10. I started the 6 month supervised diet in Feb. I'm finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I haven't lost any more weight than the 2lbs I lost initial, but I have had a lot of time to think about what is going to work for me. I feel like it is a blessing and a curse all in the same time. Wishing you a speedy 6 months! Good luck!!
  11. Wow, that's awesome!!! I have to go through the 6 month supervised diet before I can have surgery. I'm counting down the days. Good luck on your up coming surgery
  12. Is anyone going through the required 6 month program prior to surgery that would like to be WL buddies? I am getting estimated for mid to end of July surgery and have received all of my approvals and test done. I just need to do my monthly nutritionist visit and my psych evaluation. Let me know if anyone is interested!
  13. That is so amazing!!! Can you share any tips advice?
  14. I am currently in the 6 month phase as well. I started in February and go in for my 2nd nutritionist appointment this week. I'm doing the diet/excerise program - so I'm not sure how my progress is going. I know exactly how you feel, good luck to you!
  15. Good luck on your weight loss journey!
  16. Thank you for saying this, I feel the exact same way. I am going through my insurance requirements right now, with a tentative date of early - mid July. I am very nervous, excited, scared, every emotion you can think of, I feel. Good luck to you!
  17. I've had the same issue for the past 9 years. I have not seen any issues come through during clearance.
  18. For a new comer who is nervous/excited about the Lap-Band, this thread is a great read for me. Thank you to everyone for being so open and honest.
  19. Thank you for this post. I am suppose to lose 5lbs between 2/24 and 3/34 for my next nutritional visit. The dr. told me not to freak out but it's just a "goal". These responses are great.
  20. I have told my husband of course and my 2 closest friends. They are both very supportive and have seem me struggle with my weight for over 11 years. When I have my official surgery schedule, I will tell my family and that is about it. I do not think anyone in my work life needs to know about my personal situation. I do not want to be viewed differently for having a surgery.
  21. Can you see the port under the skin? Can you feel it sitting there? I would love to see some pictures of where your port if you have them.
