  1. I felt the same way too! My starting weight was 182 after pre surg diet (pre surg 188). Surgery was 9/2/15 and am at 169. I was feeling bummed that it wasn't coming off faster. But in reality we are doing fantastic!! The scale hasn't moved as fast but my scrub pants are fitting sooooo much better!!! I think you're doing fantastic! Great job!

  2. Hey Always Smiling!

How's it going? I went back to work yesterday and only made it to 1:30. So freaking tired. Today I went back and left on purpose at 1:30. Still really tired and hoping I do better next week. Thank goodness my employer is very understanding!!

I also tried the next stage of foods. Omg!! Cottage cheese is gross!!! Lmao!! So I'll stick with the Greek yogurt, not much better!

    Good luck to all!!!

Going good! First day back to work today! I'm a MA so sitting in between rooming patients is helpful. How are you doing??

  3. Upon reading all of this thread I just have to add this. Most of us have issues making good choices to begin with. Examples are with our health, as in food choices and when to say enough on eating. Most of us had surgery to help us with that. Eating less and eating better. So why do we find it shocking that some choose not so great things still after surgery? I mean YES it is shocking, but is it really? Think about it. If it was easy to make the right decisions on our health, would we be posting on this page or having this surgery? Hopefully with the help of people (doctors, psychologist, NUT and friends) we can LEARN that the choices we make can be destructive (eating, drinking not so good things). But it's all a learning process. Ridding ourselves of destructive bad habits and behavior. Just my two cents.

  4. I kind of have a new surgery fear now. What if they cut off too much stomach?

If you have concerns and fears discuss with your doctor. I'm pretty sure mine erred on the side of caution, as I would hope most would. But like it was stated above, research your doctor. My doctor had actually done three surgeries previous on my, so I completely trust him.

  5. HI! My first post op check up is next Monday, the 21st. I had my revision 9/3/15, so I'm not sure about the shape of my sleeve. I'm going to add that to the list of questions I have for the doc though!

How are you doing Always Smiling? Have you progressed to soft foods yet?

Oh yes please ask! Curious as to other doctors take on it. Soft foods day on day 14, so two more days! I'm so excited that I went grocery shopping for such items! I'll be going back to work that day too!

  6. When they did the fluoroscopy. Upon reading some post on here I guess it's quite common not to have the full sleeve shape. Scar tissue and possibility of leaks if going to high up with the sleeve. I even waited six months after removing band as to allow stomach to heal. I guess this just means I'm going to have to work a little harder at making sure to work with the new sleeve I do have.

  7. I didn't expect my extreme hunger (I've always had ridiculously bad hunger pangs) to return after 30 days. I've been following the program with few exceptions, have not been drinking coffee or soda at all, but my churning stomach and acid feeling is back. I can drinking Water (don't have to sip sip sip) and worry that maybe I stretched my stomach out by not sipping instead. My stomach just hasn't had that "full" feeling since about two weeks after the surgery. I just ate Breakfast an hour ago and I'm already super hungry. This is my worst nightmare post-surgery -- well, not my worst. I had a very easy surgery and recovery and I'm grateful for that. I just really thought and hoped I would not be hungry like this again, especially not so soon. :-(

I'm 11 days post op and I fear this!

  8. It did hurt, I didn't know what to expect. When it was out, I asked the doc how the heck long was that sucker? He said up to my tonsils. Felt like it during the pull. Hurt for about 15 seconds. Then meh.

I laughed at my husbands response as it was coming out! He said I didn't know it was that long! I told him this one was actually shorter than ye the Tummy Tuck one! It's amazing!

Here is the phone number of the crappy surgeon who dismisses the old Water rule as a myth. Why don't you call him and you can both discuss where you got your medical degrees as well as how many surgeries you perform every week. I am sure he would love to discuss this with an expert such as yourself.

I found that video very informative. Thank you for sharing.

  10. My friend is Cambodian and makes homemade Pho. And she's sending some broth home with my husband. I'm so beyond grateful and excited to have this in my rotation!!!!! Also on another note. I whipped up some SF chocolate pudding with Protein powder and lactose intolerant milk (it's a little gentler on the system that's in shock) to thin it out. Yum!! Can't wait to make some other flavors!
