How to get rid of the gas????

I tried everything and nothing helped me. Walking made it worse for me :-( Hoping you have better luck!
  2. Its prolly not the gas pain anymore so gas-x and walking wont help. Extra strength tylenol helped me a tad. Im about 3 weeks post op and I am still having referred diaphragm pain, it was from the hital herina. Some days are worse then others, but nothing really helps :-( You just kinda have to ride it out....
  3. I started working out yesterday and I notice that I get this sharp pain right under my port incision. I just ignore it. lol
  4. Has anyone have Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery. My surgeon now offers it and it sounds great, no scars! Has anyone gone threw this process, how do you like it?

    What is most effective

I have a personal trainer, so I can help answer that for you. Heavy weight with less reps is better. You want to gain lean muscle. THe more lean muscle you have the more calories you burn in a shorter period of time.
  6. Im four weeks post op and I was told that I have no restrictions for working out. I was told I can do weight training and intense cardio. I keep reading that this is all wrong and I shouldnt be lifting weights at all. i am worried my I am going to do something to cause a problem with my band... but why would my DR clear me if I would ruin something.. any thoughts?

    Not happy~

I was banded the 17th. I lost 8 pounds in 3 weeks. I started normal food yesterday and I made sure I ate all my protein. Today was my 2nd day of real food and I have been tracking my food. I eat 1500 calories and at least 70g of protein. I have lost 4 pounds in two days!! I think that my body was holding on to everything cuz it was holding on to all the fat, as I was only eating about 800 cals a day. I really think once i boosted it up and added the protein that it helped!

    Single Incision

I did not get it done. The position of my belly button was not a good place for the incision, it would have caused me more pain then normal. My 4 little incisions arent even noticeable! To me it seems like there is only one. haha
  9. I wasn't hungry at all on my pre-op diet of liquids for 2 weeks. I had to force myself to eat. I was usually only having about one shake a day. The weight flew off. But its not the easy after surgery. I wasnt hungry for about 2 weeks after, but then I wanted to eat everything! I was sasified with the food I was eating and I wasnt starving, but man I wanted to eat more and more. It was head hunger. The is what kills me the most.
  10. I was also banded 5/17 and havent exercised at all! Today will be my first day back to the gym... I am kind of worried about it because my personal trainer tends to kick my ass. Am i really ready for this?!?! Guess I will find out soon! lol I also cant think about hitting the gym after being on my feet all day at work, but once you get into the groove of it it gets better. Maybe try 2 days a week and start from there. Best of luck :-)
  11. I get my first fill next week. i lost only 8 pounds in a month... I know they say thats 2 pounds a week.. but I want more! I start working out again today, so hopefully it jump kicks the weight lost a bit before I go in next monday. Hope everything else is going well :-)

    Ladies: Dresses and Fills

Well hes already seen you naked right?!?! lol buttt I wouldnt feel comfortable doing that. If you are, go for it! If not, bring a pair of sweat pants or shorts and throw them on before you head on in.

    Humm is it considered cheating???

Yes. there has been someone on the biggest loser show that has had weight loss surgery.
  14. I am four weeks out and I have no limitations to working out. So it all depends on the doctor, like she said.

Was cleared for exercise but worried

Well this makes me feel alot better! Everywhere I read its like 6 weeks and then dont lift more then 20 pounds... I can lift more then 20 pounds easily and I start back with my trainer tomorrow. Thanks for responding :-)

    Humm is it considered cheating???

I think this is a bit overboard. Does a person that doesnt work and have all day to go and work out have an advantage to someone that works 60 hours a week and barely has time to work out? YES. Not everyone has the same variables in something like this. I think she is fine and should join!

    10 days post op

WOW thats great weight loss. Im jealous. Congrats!

    Humm is it considered cheating???

I dont think its cheating. Im joining a "get fit" challenge at my gym and my personal trainer even suggested I join it, and he knows im banded... soo if he doesnt think its cheating im going for it! lol
  19. I had the same insurance and they didnt need proof, they just wanted me to write down dates.
  20. Prolly not, but you wont find out until you wake up and they tell u if your banded or not!
  21. I stopped working out when I went on my pre-op. My doc told me I could but was afraid I was going to get hungry so I choose to opt on. If you do, you should be drinking your protein shakes after, thats when your body needs it the most.
  22. My shoulder pain wasnt from the gas, it was from getting my hital herina fixed. This last more then just one week *im almost 3 weeks post op* and I come home from work in major pain! Its just something that I havent gotten use it.
  23. My starting weight was 320. I am currently 281. Lost 33 of it before surgery and only 6 pounds in the last 3 weeks.

  24. Your still having consitpation? Maybe thats something you should bring up to your dr, i think its a bit long for that? I always have dry/peeling lips really bad. Best thing I can suggest is vasiline before you go to bed and also before you take a shower. Other then that I use burts bees through out the day.
