Also a lap band 2010. But surgeon requires removal of band -heal for 6 weeks- then revision. So it has been a really long year for me so far. But now only 8 days from rny. I bought a weighted heat pad with levels of heat and an auto off function. It is wonderful. Dont plan on taking it to hosp. But will definitely come in handy at home

how is everyone handling the daily meal for your significant others? Today my husband called me at work and asked mento pick him up pizza on my way home!!!! Rude… but he does need to eat and i dont want to cook. Lol.

Does anyone know what is involved in the pre-op appointment? Mine is Monday (April 29), and they told me it would be about 4 hours long, but it didn't occur to me to ask what will happen.
I mostly work from home, but had to dig out work clothes for a week in the office last week. Every evening I would come home and think "well, that's probably the last time I will ever wear that." I am having more clothes funerals than food funerals.

We won't like our preop shakes? ? How come? I'm worried about that. I bought small canisters of Gold Standard shakes for the after shakes. I hope I can stomach them. Hah!

11 days to go! My friend just asked me out to dinner for next week before surgery and i explained we can go but i wont be eating! Lol. So had to explain the pre op diet. So maybe we will just go shopping. Im going to need a shopping buddy anyway.

She said that whatever you drink the week prior to surgery during the fast, many people seem not to like it afterwards. She said everyone is different and sometimes your taste preferences change.

I packed lip balm. Moisturizer. Earplugs. Phone charger.

Don’t plan on being there long and come home in same clothes wore in! The dietitian said not to plan on liking any Protein Shake i liked preop so be careful what you stock up on. I seem not to mind any of them so it will be ok!

Greetings. My name is Jacki, 41 years old from Norther California and I am new around these parts. Here is what my weight is looking like. First visit with surgeon after referal sent over, 11/28/23 I was 373 pounds. 4/19/2024 was 353 after my doctor told me to lose 20 pounds before my next appointment. My scale at home lied to me by like 5 pounds so we will go with the office scale. I left that appointment on the 19th with a surgery date of May 9th, 2024.

Nervous and excited is an understatement. I start my 2 week pre-op diet tomorrow 4/25 and it is gonna suck because my birthday is 4/27 but I know this is the best birthday gift I can give myself. This is like the last piece of my puzzle of taking over my life and figuring out who I am and who I want to be.

So my surgery has been rescheduled, I am so glad that this is finally going to happen. Originally was set for March 12th, but had an issue with my kidney, everything is golden, and am now set for surgery on 05/02……started liquid diet process on 18th, I'm having such a hard time with it. I'm a diabetic and get weak light-headed, dizzy. My sugars are fluxuating, and the meal shakes are constipating me.
Been reading posts from everyone, and got a lot of good info, so I don't feel so uninformed and alone on the journey.

Hello my operation is on 31st May

1: Not really nervous more excited. I have done my research. I am a little nervous about head hunger

2: Bag will have slippers, change of clothes, charger, headphones, toothbrush. Reading others will put in lip balm

3: Most excited to fit in my old clothes and be more active with my son. Just better health overall

I have moved in the last four years and the only local physician in-network has stopped placing Lap Band... She actually talks negatively about it. Needless to say, I didn't go back. It has been three years since my last follow up and I am failing. I have never lost more than 15 pounds with the band, but it did not come back.
My last visit I had a stretched esophagus so they took the Fluid out of the band to heal the esophagus.
I want to see a new physician and I am looking for someone close with a good reputation in the Hershey/Harrisburg area (17033). I would like to get back on track and If that isn't possible I am willing to consider other options. I am also currently having some heartburn after having the Flu and Bronchitis and fear something might have happened with all the coughing.
Any guidance you can provide would be appreciated.
