    Lost 8 Lbs

So glad to hear this because I myself am getting back in the game. I had lost 80 pounds but have gained back 30. I can't believe I did this to myself again. I have an appointment for a fill but have dedicated to getting myself back in gear. Have my protein all ready to go. We are all in this together. Please keep us posted on your success.

    Self-pay panic!!

I was self pay myself and I would definitely do it again. I'm 5 months out & have lost 58 pounds. I worried and stressed about paying as well but I finally convinced myself you know what.. I'm worth it and this is an investment in me and my health. Just think you are getting healthier and let me tell you - I am definitely saving on meals. When you sit down and compare everything- there's no question it is definitely worth every cent. Good luck and you'll do great!!
  4. Hi everyone. I've been reading through all the new posts and read lots of posts of discouraged folks. Come on guys... we've made it this far. It didn't take us such a short time to put on the weight so we've got to be patient and know that it'll take time to get it off. I really needed to read the posts cause I was getting that "ah shouldn't I have lost more..." thought, but I realized we are all doing great!! Look what we've accomplished so far. I was "doing the math" as one of the posts suggested and realized there's no way I would have lost the weight I have without my band. Yes there is days I would just like to take a bite as big as my fist outta a big fat juicy cheeseburger, but hey.. that's the breaks.. it's all good. I had my surgery in February and have lost 43 pds. I feel so much better and can walk without getting out of breath. That is just 2 of my payoffs so far. So please don't get discouraged guys, just think where we'd b without the band. Have a great day!!!:w00t:
  5. Hey Jessica, I was banded on 2/12/10 and was very nauseous as well. When I went in for my one week check up the nurse informed me I was not eating or drinking enough. By not eating and drinking enough we are making things worse for ourselves. By not eating we aren't getting the calories we need to properly heal and being undernourished it can make you feel much sicker. I have been eating(full liquid diet) and drinking more and feel so much better and not nauseous so you may wanna give it a try. Who knew?? Good luck everybody!!

    Fridays the day

Well that is great- a band day buddy! Believe it or not, I do not feel nervous at all. I've been on a liquid diet for almost 2 weeks so I am just ready to get the band on and get back to "normal". How about you, you nervous at all?
  9. Well the day is almost :blink:here. Friday is band day. Any suggestions or words of advice from the "banded experts"? Thanks!! Bobbie
  10. Hey guys, my name is Bobbie and my surgery date is 2/12/10. I am really getting excited, just can't wait for this liquid diet to be over . I think this is going to be such an exciting journey for all of us. I look forward to hearing from each of you.
  11. Hi There!! I started my pre-op liquid diet 3 days ago. This site has been my best motivator. I guess its like they say "We've got to keep our eye on the prize". I have been really mentally challenged during these last few days but I keep thinking its only 2 weeks, suck it up. Its crazy how much power our minds have over us. I won't even be "hungry" but my mind tries to trick me in to believing I am starving:blink:. We've just got to keep strong. I'm paying for my surgery out of pocket so that's a really good motivator as well haha. My surgery date is Feb. 12th and I can't wait to start the journey. We can do this. We can do this... We just have to stay positive.. Good luck and I looks forward to seeing the other posts you receive.
  12. Hello everyone, my name is Bobbie and I am scheduled for my lap band surgery February 12th. I'm really excited and ready to get it over.. I am currently on day 3 of my liquid diet that my doctor is requiring to shrink my liver. I guess I'm just needing support and recipes ideas. The protein shakes make me nauseous. I guess its just the consistency. I've tried to fix them as shakes, mix the unflavored with soups. I'm just at a standstill. It's at the point I would rather not eat than have to do the "shake thing". Any ideas?? Thanks and I'm really glad to have this site as I'm starting my journey.
  13. Hi Lauryn- my name is Bobbie and I am also scheduled to be banded on Feb. 12th and am also a TN girl. I am excited but nervous too!! I have 100 pounds to lose myself. I look forward to reading the success stories and getting as many tips and helpful hints as I can.
