  1. Jersey - Thank you so much for your offer. I'll keep you in mind for mentoring as time goes by. JC
  2. Laura, I just noticed you are in Stuart. My DH & I used to spend xmas thru New Years on Hutchinson Island. Loved the town of Stuart. Happy B'day - love seeing your transformation pix. Enjoy your romantic dinner with hubby. Joyce In KC
  3. Cheri, Thanks for sharing your eating experience thru an average day. My banding is Monday and I'm, of course, concerned about how eating will change. Good for you to exercise when weather is soooo gross. Joyce in KC
  4. Cheri - sending prayers for your family. Very sorry to hear of their difficulties.
  5. Laura - What a beautiful bride you are. Such a gorgeous setting for the wedding. A beautiful family and love the departure by boat. Where is the setting?
  6. Sharon, I love your comparison of breaking up with a friend who was cruel and NOT your true friend. Very insightful. We will be banded the SAME DAY. Success to both of us and all our new friends here. JC in Kansas City
  7. Would love to put together fellow banders in K.C. Meet at Starbucks and share our stories and support each other. Any interest? ladykcusa
  8. JB & Linda - thanks for the wonderful words of encouragement. You hit the nail on the head. What am I doing????? Seriously, I've done lots of research and have the GIFT of all of your experiences and I know this is the correct decision for my health & my life. Deep sigh...... Joyce in KC
  9. Linda - Don't know how old you are, BUT the snoring drove my DD & I to separate bedrooms. Sadly, it was MY snoring and my beloved (now deceased) yorkie, Rambo. Even tho we don't sleep together, still madly in love after 35 years. It's an option....... Joyce
  10. I will be banded on Monday, so this thread was very interesting to read. Be strong and go for the goal. Lots of good advice here.
  11. Just checking to see if there are many of us. I'm in Overland Park. Where are you?
  12. Yes, just one and a protein shake. Then you won't feel hunger. Remember why you chose the band. Rewards will be worth it.
  13. Happy that all went well for you. Keep walking.
  14. Such a busy thread with interesting lives. I had my second appt with bariatric therapist today. We both feel I'm more than ready for Monday and the band. Was very, very hungry last night, but just ate two sf popsicles and skim milk and went to bed. Feeling very ZEN. Clarity of thoughts and centered. Fasting can do that. Sending hugs to all. Joyce in KC
  15. Welcome Laura and Spence. We are all anxious to have our bands and will support one another thru the process to a NEW LIFE. Joyce in KC
  16. Yes, I am a food addict. Began therapy last week to address how I can work with the band and gain control over food in my life. 2nd appt with therapist is tomorrow and surgery on Monday the 22nd of Feb. Good luck to all of us in this battle. May we achieve success. JC in KC

  19. One of my trainers encourage me to speed walk instead. He felt that it was just as good for the body and less damaging to joints. Something to consider.
  20. I'm down 11 lbs. in 10 days. Bet I was eating lots of salt before. lolol Sure makes the pre-op program more palatable. Joyce in KC
  21. Jewel - I, too, am concerned about ceasing your medication without doctor supervision. Some meds must be weaned off. Please see your doctor and discuss this with him/her. Essie - I'm on Day 10 of 14 day pre-op. After careful research, I know this is the right decision for me. And welcome to this wonderful thread of great ladies. Joyce in KC
  22. Best wishes to all being banded today. Can't believe Christopher went shopping on the way home from surgery. WOW. JC in KC
  23. Hi Lovely, Glad to have another lady to go thru this journey with all of us. We will sail thru the surgery and open the door to our new life-style. Joyce in KC
  24. Thank you, Apples, for all the solid advice. I'll need to read it many times in the next few weeks. Phyl - congrats on breaking the plateau. We are the same age and I'll celebrate my 67th b'day as a banded lady. So comforting to have so many who have been thru this journey to offer advice and counsel. Joyce in KC
