  3. I attended last month and will be there again this month. Always looking for more info. :cursing:
  4. Jewell - I enjoyed your vblog. Sending good luck on continued weight loss and journey to health. I'm starting baby food today - very gently. Full fluids now until next Saturday. Want to try the greek yogurt everyone talks about. Have a nice weekend ladies. Joyce
  5. Great 2BThin - will take me awhile to learn all your "real" names. Thanks for the hint about protein shots @ GNC - I'll be going there today too. My sister leaves on Monday for Telaviv too. She is traveling with a tour group. Have a wonderful trip. Joyce in KC
  6. Wow - keep dancing and thank you for sharing your inspiring story. Joyce in KC
  7. Help - give me an example of protein you are eating. Is it easy for you to swallow? Joyce :mad2:
  8. Hi Sharon, Loved your idea of tracking calories and fluid intake. The protein shakes relieve the hunger for awhile and that helps. My doctor's office said to expect some gain in this period before we begin to utilitze the band with full food. Yes, the fluids pour right thru and don't allow satiety. Darn. Joyce in KC
  9. Battling hunger and becoming weary of clear liquid diet. I know this is part of the journey, but just wanted to share. Feeling great. So lucky I can be home & rest. Sending hugs to all my lap band sisters. Joyce in KC
  10. Jen - sending good luck for tomorrow. You will do fine, like all of us and we'll look for your return to the boards when you are ready. Joyce
  11. Best of luck and sending prayers to all being banded tomorrow. Joyce
  12. callcrs - congratulations on your loss and working your way past the insurance companies. Joyce in KC
  13. I feel so blessed - with everyone here praying for me. Smooth sailing. Only took pain meds at surgicenter. Nurses I had to two days were NOT needed, at all. I feel marvelous. Anxious to start the journey to health with all my friends here. Ladykcusa JC in KC
  14. Thanks everyone. I'm doing GREAT. Will be nice to meet and talk about the journey. Want to heal a little before I consider a date and place. Will let you all know.
  15. Was banded on 2-22 and have been busy since then. Have a dog sitter here and DH insisted on nurses for the first 2 days. They were NOT needed. I feel great. Gas can be passed and sleeping well at night. Walking and only took pain meds at the surgicenter. None since I came home. Let the journey begin.
  16. I got home about 4 and the meds made me hyper. Have not rested and nurse from surgicenter said that happens sometimes. Will probably be very tired tomorrow. No pain and very little gas - except when I take a deep breath. Wonder what tomorrow will bring. I'm so happy this day is over and I'm truly a banded girl. Joyce in KC :tongue_smilie:
  17. I will be banded tomorrow @ Malley surgi ceneter. I feel more frequent, smaller support groups might be an advantage. Seeking other near-by bandsters. JC in KC
  18. Julie - Your pain sounds so much like my DH. He suffered for a couple years and tried everything to avoid back surgery. Finally, he couldn't take it anymore and had it done. It changed his life. He is back to normal and so happy he finally took the step. He slept in a recliner for 6 months - does that help you at all??? Sending prayers. Joyce
  19. Phyll - I love San Diego. Took my GS & GD there for our summer trip last year and stayed on Coronado. Did all the tourist stuff -- zoo and Sea World. Also took them to Hotel Del for dinner. They liked laying by the pool best - teenagers lolol My nail person came to my house today and took off acrylic on one finger of each hand - for sugery tomorrow. So nice of her to come to the house, since we have ice here. She is a sweety. DH is more nervous than I am. He brought me gorgeous flowers and picked up all the Gatorade and Jello I could eat in a year. lolol He needs to feel he is helping. I'm a truly lucky woman. Wait til he sees what this surgery will do for me. Again, thanks to all of you for including me in your gentle, loving group. Joyce in Kansas City
  20. Ice & snow here in Kansas City. Will arrive tomorrow for surgery @ 8 a.m. Surgery @ 10:30 a.m. We will all be banded this week. Yippee. JC In KC
  21. It is great to read these last comments. Best decision - even at age 69 - God speed - relax..... bring a deep sigh of relief. I'm on liquids today and surgery tomorrow @ 10:30 a.m. And the journey begins......
  22. An accomplishment to complete pre-op. Liquids until next Friday. I CAN and will do this and be successful. My health depends on it and a life lays ahead to create wonderful memories. Patience and determination will prevail.:thumbup:

  24. Sandman - hurray for you. Will be wonderful to have your wife support and mentor. Both of you will be ready for a second honeymoon. JC in KC
  25. Linda - Thanks soooo much. Really hungry and a bit intimidated by all the changes ahead. Love the comment, still wondering up to the moment the IV was going in. A feeling that must be shared by many - this is such a big, drastic decision. This phase the doctors seems to focus on all that "could" go wrong. To release them of liability and their responsibility to be SURE we understand what we have agreed to. With all of you here and my support at home, I know this will be a wonderful new chapter in a healthier life. Joyce
