Arlene Happy Birthday, sweet lady. Julie - sending prayers. Cheri - prayers for DD. Still typing with one finger on left hand while right elbow heals. Nurse is here 4 hrs each day to help me bathe, dress, & keep house running. No pain at all while cast is still in place. Lori - so excited for your DD as she begins her journey into motherhood. Phyl - your life is sooo full of friends & good times. Loved the pix of red hat luncheon. Sorry about knee issues. I'm reading, but too hard to type. Hugs to all m sisters here.

Laura - a very Happy Birthday. Enjoy for the whole week. I can't wait to see what Nels gets for his beloved Mommy. He sounded so excited to shop. Karen - nice to see you on line again. Enjoy that last week in Arizona. LauraK - date sounds like a keeper. Will enjoy hearing more about him. Linda - way to go on the shopping. Lori - yippee - taxes done AND a refund. I sent ours to accountant last week and feel relieved to have it "off my plate". Now it is hers to complete. Eva - so fun to stay up all night reading. Used to love scifi. Kristi - be careful until you are fully healed

Welcome to Kelley & Kris. Nice to see new faces join this marvelous group of ladies. Linda - I'm also enjoying some nice weather and hoping the forecast is WRONG for Monday and more snow. Janet - enjoy your new computer. The learning curve is always a challenge. I bought a new Mac about 6 months ago and love it. Arlene - hope the Zpak does the trick for you. I'm battling sore throat and cough for the last three days.

Lori - Glad traffic court went smoothly. I've been back at the gym since last week in November. Started with the trainer 8 weeks ago and just signed up for 12 more weeks. By then I'll be leaving for Grand Cayman. Feels great to be back at the gym and already feel stronger. The unfill has really made me feel soooooo much better. Still have a sore throat, but feel it is unrelated to band. I need to start readying the Dragon Tattoo series. Have heard many recommendations.

Eva - your post was so filled with love and concern for Arlene, Laura and Lori. It made my heart warm to sense what a special lady you are. Really wish I had been able to share time with you and Karen in Tucson. That assignment sounds fascinating. Writing in a fictionalizing way about ourselves would be so enlightening (and a bit frightening). Sorry you lost your maid. I can't imagine being without mine after all these years. Enjoy the sunshine while you run those errands. I am on my way to work out with the trainer.

ite has been down a great deal. Think I may have posted this update before. Oh well,,,,,,,, I'm old and forgetful. Last Wednesday had 1 cc removed from band and was told the scan showed a gas bubble in my stomach. "it will go away" was the advice. Also was given script for Carafate which Laura suggested. It is working very well. Feeling better and can eat again. Slowly and carefully. S

Linda - thanks for your comment about my "doctor". I'm considering changing doctors when My one year paid treatment is over. Actually, not considering - the decision is made. Have already attended a seminar hosted by new doctor. Lori - go soak up some sunshine for all of us. Enjoy and relax and recuperate from fall and accident. Kristi - welcome - so glad to have you here with all these successful ladies. Joyce

Laura - Thank you, thank you. I requested Carafate and a script was written. I feel this office only wanted my $16,500 and NO FOLLOW UP CARE is considered. My acid reflux was HORRIBLE last night. I would have paid anything $$$$ to get relief night. Unfill of about 1 cc using a scan. NP said there is a gas bubble in my stomach. When I asked how to relieve that, "blah, blah".... it will go away. Can you tell, I have NO trust, respect for my surgeons office. I have an appt. to return in a month - my last appt included for the initial $16,500. My sincere thanks to all my lap band sisters to helping guide/share this journey. It snowed 3" again last night. yuk

Think the 5 day pouch test is also a great suggestion for me - and an unfill. Now, just to make myself commit to it.

Hi Ladies, Thanks for all the suggestions and input regarding my band issues. Janet, I have always taken my meds after I drink the shake. Never had problems and felt I should not put meds on empty stomach. Thank you for suggesting taking them first. Still learning tricks and it has been almost a year. Lori - hubby knows that I make my own decisions and he could NOT have influenced me once I made my decision. He has been supportive, but just hates to see me so challenged. I feel Maybe I am too tight. Just avoiding going to the doctor, b/c the weather is so bad (excuse, excuse). I manage to go the the gym and it is farther away. Just seem to be avoiding dealing with this and electing to handle other issues. Julie - so sorry to hear about your fall. Take care of yourself.

Laura - sorry about the unfill. But thank you for explaining/sharing your journey. I still don't truly understand MY BAND. I know each of us is different. Last night I threw up at a restaurant after putting one bite of yogurt (I should not have had it) on top of a cup of chili. My husband gets soooo upset when I vomit. He really wants me to have band removed. I'm undecided. Last week I threw up while trying to take my meds. I had eaten greek yogurt with 1/3 cup of Kashi cereal mixed in. I know I need to visit my doctor again. Arlene - so sorry to hear of your episode too. Usually, once the slime begins for me, I spit up/vomit and then I'm fine again. It has become a non-event for me. Had a great workout with trainer this morning and I'm having a resting metabolic test tomorrow before hair appt. The journey continues. Each meal is a challenge. However, 30 lbs. has remained off.

Cheri - loved your great advice. So well said. Linda - Aylah's pix on FB are darling. She reminds of of "true joy". Kristi - welcome. Wishing you a safe surgery and speedy recovery. Hello to all my friends here. Stay warm. We are expecting more snow here in KC tomorrow too. Yuk.

We stopped by the Mission, but my friend was unable to walk for long. It was so incredible. Loved Tubac - hope you & Karen enjoyed your time there.

Cheri - So sorry about the accident. Take good care of yourself, while you are healing. Sending hugs. Sandy - I had the same issues with "potty time" for my 12 lb. doggie. We keep shoveling snow to make a "place" for him. The drifts keep hubby busy trying to clear an area. I'm staying home with warm fire. We have a generator also, but have not needed it yet. Laura - I'm so jealous of those 85 degree highs. Linda - love all your pix on FB. I'm also jealous of all you ladies who are completing your taxes so early.

Still snowing (blizzard) in Kansas City. Approx. 10 inches so far and still coming down. Everything is closed today and tomorrow. Lots of work to do upstairs in my home office & this will be a good time to do it. Sure miss Tucson.

Eva - loved the spa. Had two treatments each day and still feel the affects of relaxation. Loved Tucson for the second time. Will consider winters there in a few years. Lovely firepits out by the pool at the resort and wonderful restaurants also. New trainer recommends a resting metabolic test to determine what direction to go with my training. Think I will like him. He models and played football for Colorado. 30 years old and great eye candy. I'm the oldest client he has worked with, so will be a new challenge for him. Feels good to be back at the gym (since November).

Melissa - good luck on life change in career. Takes guts to make the changes. Arlene - loved the story about your Mom. Cold weather friends, - it is here too. Deck is covered with ice and dog slid off chasing squirrels. Snow expected. I'm leaving for the gym before the bad weather arrives. New trainer today.

Returned from Tucson @ 5 pm last night. DH took me to dinner & enjoyed a steamed lobster tail with salad. Love him sooo much. Karen & Eva were very kind to try to meet up with me in Tucson. Not enough time to make it work. My friend has great difficulty walking (MS & blind in one eye from a stroke). I'm a bit afraid to leave her in a strange place like the resort. She missed a step in the lobby (all marble) and almost fell. I almost fell trying to catch her. We had treatments at 11 and 4 both days, then went to stay with her daughter for two days. Her DD had taken time off work and had planned our days - so could not meet up with Eva and Karen. Spent Thursday @ Tubac - a charming little area near the border. Really enjoyable - but again, my friend could not walk much. On Friday, my friends DD took us to the TV station where she is Vice President and General Manager for a tour, then to lunch at a lovely restaurant. Had pajama parties both Thursday and Friday, then off the airport on Saturday morning for trip home. Had to get a wheelchair for my friend in the airport in Phoenix. Have not yet read messages - need to unpack, do laundry and have nails done. Next trip - Grand Cayman on April 30th - unless DD plans a trip to Las Vegas first. Eating very carefully.

Laura - You rock it GF - Love the side/by/side picture showing your marvelous success. And look at that smile. You look wonderful. Linda - sorry for all the issues with DSD. How luck Aylah is to have you. And thank you for the post. Boy, did it ever hit home with me. Hello to everyone. 7 inches of new snow here yesterday and last night. Plan to stay in and pack today for Tucson, leaving on Monday. Still working out at the gym 3 days a week and have a trainer on 2 of those days. Weight is staying under 200, which is nice. Baby steps. Time to shower and get started.
