  1. Thank you, Cheri. I take prevecide (sp?) prescription strength each morning. My health insurance would not pay for Nexium (which I feel worked better). No problems coughing at night - I sleep like a brick.

Think my answer is --- lose a few lbs. and continue to exercise.

But, again, thank you for the reminders. Avoiding acidic foods too - to calm it down. rolleyes.gif

  2. Since last fill, throat is always sore and I'm constantly clearing my throat. Is that normal???? Is it part of what is considered "normal" for the band??

I'm still trying to learn what to expect.

Also, I was taking Aleve for inflamation. Now I understand it is too hard on the stomach after banding. Any suggestions for alternatives?

PA recommended extra strength liquid tylenol for arthritis pain - and suggested gel caps would also work. Still need something for the arthritis.

  3. Kristi - sorry you are feeling sick. Get better soon. Keep those fluids going.

Jessica - how exciting - a better school for Jake and a great deal on a new home. You deserve these great breaks - you are working so hard in school.

I'm working hard at a commitment to walking again after each PT session. Leaving for Cayman on Sunday. Nothing like walking on a sugar sand beach to help commitment. cool.gif

  4. Arlene - I had lip on upper thighs and it was a waste of money. However, NO recovery time needed. Just wore a very tight elastic garment for a week. It does sound as if your friend has become obsessed with PS.

But, that being said, I truly believe each of us should pursue happiness in our own way and let nothing stop us. Wishing her the success she is striving to find.

  5. Morning ladies

Jessica - loved your family pictures. You look marvelous and such a handsome hubby and son.

Cheri - Lincoln Lawyer is about an attorney who drives a Lincoln. That explains the title - but he is a defense attorney with lots of connections. A bit of a scoundrel. Makes the character very interesting and he is "eye candy" too. The plot connects several different characters and really holds your interest. I truly enjoyed it.

Kristi - you have such a busy life, filled with lots of fun. Enjoy George Lopez - love his comedy.

Janet - so glad you have some resolution with the vertigo.

I'm helping DGD with her books today using Quickbook pro, then off to PT. I took the day off PT yesterday, as I overdid on Saturday and aggravated the arm. ohmy.gif

Forgot to mention - great picture Sandy.

Temperature back in the 50's today, so not quite time to take out my convertible yet. Had a hail storm here last night to bring temps down from that 90 degree mark,

  6. Linda - sending prayers for your brothers.

Jodi - the doctor sounds wonderful. A gentle, listener and intelligent plus a gentleman. What a find.

Friday at PT, I was advised that can NOT lift anything heavier than a can of Soup -- for a month. This "little fall" has really set me back. They also advised I should check all my luggage and not lift while in Grand Cayman. Oh well, I'l read light weight books.

Saw the movie Lincoln Lawyer and loved it. Also saw Cedar Rapids today and loved it too - very funny.

90 degrees in K.C. today. Welcome warm weather.

Sandy - so excited for you having the TT. Know you will love the results. If you recuperate in a chaise lounge, you will NOT have the strength to put the lever up/down to get out of the chair. Someone will have to do it for you.

  7. Linda - the snow missed us too. Just very cold and cloudy here today. All that cooking -- yum, I can almost smell it from here.

Arlene - you are a doll to share Cookies with homeless man.

Karen - enjoy your dinner with family tonight.

Jessica - have a blast on that cruise and pick a lovely spot to do your homework.

Good morning to all my LB sisters.

  8. Linda - so happy to hear - no surgery required. I know you are relieved. Wish I lived closer and I would buy some of that home cooking from you. rolleyes.gif

Laura - prayers for your Dad (and for strength for your Mom) as they face this again. You are such a loving daughter to be there to help support them with love thru this illness. And prayers for safety for hubby's family.

Hate to share that I've gained weight in this month of elbow issues. Not surprised since I had to quit exercise while arm healed. Doctor cautioned that I could fall again with balance compromised using only one arm. Must accept that weight fluctuates with life situations. Just keep trying and keep exercising.

Snow flakes are starting and we are expecting 2 to 4" in the next week. Don't remember snow in April in Kansas City in my lifetime. grrrrr......angry.gif

Oh well, I leave for Grand Cayman on April 24th, so I'll get sunshine soon and when I return, spring will be here in K.C.

  9. Melissa - I'm with you and Lori regarding having WAY TOO MANY diet books. Good for you to pack them up and get them out. rolleyes.gif

Julie - so glad you are feeling better. I take Aleve twice a day. Is that a no-no????

Karen - have a great date night and share as much of the evening as you feel comfortable telling us. wink, wink

Cheri - enjoy your spring break. Relax and Celebrate the marvelous influence you are to so many children. You are changing lives.

Linda - any news on neck???

Jodi - anxious to hear that your attorney will make things right for you & for Dassi.

Arlene - way to go on 5 lb. loss. You rock, GF. rolleyes.gif

I'll see doctor on Monday and should be set free of the sling - then begin PT.

We are expecting snow tomorrow and next week ---- whine, whine.......

  10. Janet - sorry about the vertigo. Must be really bad since you needed someone to drive you home. So glad you were aware and helped prevent an accident for yourself and others. Feel better -- hugs.

Jodi - what a mess. So sorry.

Misery, sometimes, loves company - so I'll share an experience that my sister had. Nasty divorce due to his cheating (even bought a house for GF). The divorce ruled that he pay all debts of marriage. He took bankruptcy and the MasterCard debt then fell to my sister. The charges included $$$$$ spent on trips the GF and ex shared in Hawaii and romantic dinners. Nevertheless===SHE was required to pay the entire bill. Including penalties and interest. She had issues with the IRS too, but I can't remember the details. Life can just be so unfair and, many times, justice is over rulled by power and money. angry.gif

  11. Thanks for asking about the arm. Since cast has been removed, I can use both hands (and type). Sling limits movement of arm and still makes driving difficult. I'm avoiding driving altogether. But fingers work fine to type. rolleyes.gif

Karen - can't imagine how strong you are to manage pain. I had morphine for my elbow until they forced it back into place. Once in place, no further pain or need for meds.

Mourning passing of Elizabeth Taylor. What a movie star.

  12. Have read for almost an hour to catch up - now need to get busy - but a few comments

Julie - so happy the pain left after surgery. This may be the end of pain and hopefully you will not have to wait for it to return any minute. Back to a normal, pain free life.

LauraK - so sorry the latest man, simply walked away. Men are such jerks - so many of them. Have a great time in Vegas.

Janet - welcome back - the pictures looked like a wonderful trip and time with the Lucky 7's. Woopie is going to perform in Indio next week. Wish I was there to take you to see her, if you enjoy her humor.

Cheri - wonderful to hear daughter's tumor is shrinking. Sending love and prayers.

Sandy - loved your explanation of decision NOT to band. You have done so well on your own. So proud and happy for you.

Lori - sad for your friend regarding son with bipolar. My daughter has finally found a physician/psychiatrist who has put together the right group of drugs to help her bi-polar symptoms. She sleeps a lot now, but is not so manic and aggressive.

Jessica - I agree with Karen, you have done outstanding in all your classes, this one is just not working for you. Don't beat yourself up.

Arlene - way to go on 17 day diet.

Know I have forgotten some. Sending love to all.

    Joyce

  13. Thank you all for b'day wishes. Cast was removed on Monday and movement is great. Still in sling, but can shower and use my hand. Have some home exercise with sling on. Will see doctor on the 28th and begin PT. He approved trip to Grand Cayman leaving on April 24th - that's great news.

  14. Arlene Happy Birthday, sweet lady. rolleyes.gif

    Julie - sending prayers.

    Cheri - prayers for DD.

Still typing with one finger on left hand while right elbow heals. Nurse is here 4 hrs each day to help me bathe, dress, & keep house running. No pain at all while cast is still in place.

Lori - so excited for your DD as she begins her journey into motherhood.

Phyl - your life is sooo full of friends & good times. Loved the pix of red hat luncheon. Sorry about knee issues. sad.gif

I'm reading, but too hard to type.

Hugs to all m sisters here. rolleyes.gif
