  1. I am having my band on May 3rd at University Community Hospital with Dr. Dietrick. I have heard good things about TGH, but also that you have to deal with the fellows more than the doctor. Since I am a nurse at UCH, I have to have my surgery there.....but I think Dr. Dietrick is really good.

    Any May 2010 Bandsters?

    May 3rd and I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. I like them better than any of the "shake" ones. So far I have tried the grape frost and alpine punch. I put it in a sports bottle with a ton of ice and it has a straw. Texture is a huge issue for me, so far they are the only things I can stomach. I have not encountered lumps of protein....so far.

    3 week pre-op diet!

My surgeon requires a 2 week pro-op diet, it consists of 2-3 Protein shakes a day and one protein meak(chicken breast) with green leafy veggies. I started it a vew days early after realizing I had gained 20#'s since my consult in January. I was obviously having too many goodbye meals. I know how important it is for the liver to be in a good place and consistancy. I don't want my doc to cancel my surgery. So pre-op appt is this tuesday, and suregery is May 3rd. Isopure is the only premade drink I have been able to tolerate. Hoping the hunger goes away soon!!

    Sleep Apnea?!?

I was diagnosed with sleep apnea in 2003. One thing I can tell you is it takes a while to get used to the mask. I was waking up 120 times an hour!!!! It was insane, the Dr. told me I was more dangerous on the road than a drunk driver. I chose a mask that just went into my nostrils. My machine also has the ability to have me start it at half the pressure it needs to be and work up slowly to help you get used to it. It took a few months to totally get used to it. I would make it a few hours, then wake up and rip it off. In the end I felt soooooo much better. My machine actually broke about 6 months ago (bad me) and since I had lost 65 pounds I didnt snore as much I had not replaced it yet. I go for a repeat study on Feb 2, we will see if my settings need to be changed. Stick with it, it will get better....and when you finally get a full nights rest, you won't believe the difference. P.S my first post ever....yeah me:biggrin:
