  1. Hello everyone! I recently got a fill of 0.5mls (I usually get 0.25mls) in my band and for the first week and a half afterwards felt fine. I was eating appropriate amounts and not struggling with it too much (no pain, no stuck incidents). I've been staying with some friends for the last week and a half whilst I undertake a voluntary midwifery placement in Ireland (which is very stressful ) and have been really, really restricted since. I'm having difficulty drinking water sometimes. I'm finishing up my placement on Wednesday so I should be more relaxed but I wanted to ask what you thought - is this a common thing? Should I perhaps consider having a TINY amount removed from the band to account for these kind of things? Physiologically, how does it occur? Thoughts?

    Anxiety and restriction....

Yeah I am planning a mammoth lie-in tomorrow! I grew up here so the beauty doesn't relax me as much as it used to.

    Anxiety and restriction....

Thanks for the replies! I think the dehydration thing makes sense.... I work 13 hour shifts, though, so I think it's very important for me to remain hydrated. I am not sure what Motrin is? The next time I can see my nurse is 7th September so I guess I will see if any natural slackening occurs in that time. I was badly overfilled for more than a year which was hell, so was completely unrolled I'm order to re-learn the sensations attached to my band. We have been slowly advancing my fills, working me towards restriction...I wonder if this time, we just overshot the target.

    Perth people, where are you?

Hi guys I need some expert advice from you Perth people! I live in Ireland but will be moving to Perth at the end of June and need some advice about which surgeon to use from here on out for my fills. I was banded in January in Belgium and am on my third fill which I get done in Dublin. I am not sure where in Perth I will be living but I am happy to travel for a good consultant. Also how much can I expect to pay for fills? In Ireland it's entirely self-paying, so free fills are never part of my aftercare. Any advice you can give me would be much appreciated! Jo
  5. Wow well done - this is EXACTLY where I wanna be in a year. I am 5 days post op, still in the liquid stage and a bit hiccupy and gasy but I think this is fairly normal! I wanna do what you do - I am not interested in losing a tonne of weight quickly but I do wanna live a normal life and eat what I want but in smaller quantities! THanks for showing that it cah happen! PS I am in Dublin Ireland and was banded in Belgium

Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Hello! I was banded with Sharon and Barbara on 15th Jan in Belgium and wanted to echo everything B said about CDB, Fred and the hospital. I'm feeling quite good now - like sharon, quite itchy but happy enough still. I've lost around 7 lbs already although I know this is pretty superficial weightloss so I'm not imagining that it'll stick around! Surviving on very watered down leek and potato soup (homemade) and Slimfast shakes. Looking forward to moving onto something a bit more texturised in the middle of next week. I've noticed I get th hiccups if I eat to fast so I'm keeping an eye on that and I'm *embarrassing* quite windy in the evening. I think what I am looking forward to the most now, is not so much the weight loss but the control I'll feel around food! Anyway hey everyone and I am in Dublin, so will be getting filled there in 7 weeks (March 5th) Jo:biggrin:
