    shortness of breath

Thank you everyone for giving me an updated on my breathing issue. I'm really afraid of having any breathing complications because it runs in my family. So nice to know this will go away.

    2 days post-op

Hey I'm two days post op too. Hope u r doing well. I've been having issues with gas too. I'm taking gasX now but it's not working like I wish it would. My major problem is breathing. I feel like I have shortness of breath for some reason. I hope it goes away soon because it's really unconfortable.
  3. :thumbup:I finally had surgery yesterday. I've waited almost 3 yrs to have this surgery. Now that I have done it, I ask God to see me through. I hope I continue to do well. My life have changed forever.
  4. OMG!!! I finally found some people who had or is having surgery at Strax. I'm scheduled to have surgery on the 26 of this month. Butterfly723 you were very helpful. I felt the same about Dr. Choi, but I didn't care much about him giving me info because I've done alot of research. Also I'm a nurse so I know what I'm getting myself into. Dr. Choi actually works in the bariactric unit at Memorial hosp anyone could check. I did.
  5. I'm getting banded on the 26th, I'm excited and scared at the same time.
  6. Okay, today I went the doctor's for repeat labs, weekly weight and diet f/u. 1st bad news I gain 1 lb from last week. Which think it's from all the weight lifting I've been doing. Then the nurse start going through all the things I should expect on surgery day. After that we start talking about my diet for this week before surgery. The nurse said I had to be on a liquid diet all week. I'm like what do you mean by liquid? She's like only the protein shake 3 times a day. I'm like no food! I look forward to eating my one meal a day. So now I feel a little overwhelm about this week. I don't want to gain anymore weight and I don't want to mess up. How do I keep myself on track. I should be excited about this week, but instead I'm really afraid.
  7. Some people will never, I mean never ever know what it feels like to go through a weight gain/ loss cycle. To them, you never did enough effort. To them, you are a person who is lazy, eat to much and doesn't have any self control. So don't be angry about her commit because she has no clue. No one know you more than yourself so keep doing what's good for you. Don't keep telling people about what you think is good for yourself. I'm 30 years old now and I've wanted the band since I was 25. My ex-boyfriend made me feel bad about wanting to have the surgery. He felt just like that girl at your job. He has the body type that never needs to workout and always stay fit. So for year I was killing myself at the gym and feeling bad for myself because I just never could keep the weight off. I finally find out that I have a hormonal problem (PCOS) which affects my weight and having children. So guess what? Five years later with one less issue in my life (X- boyfriend) and a lot to look forward to. I'm having my band surgery on 3/26/10 and I can't wait. So do whats right for you. Good Luck.
  8. Okay, I'm on my pre-op diet 2 protien shake during the day and one meal for dinner. I'm currently on day 3 of my diet and I'm not doing to good. Last night after I had my dinner an hour later I was hungry. I was really hungry, I felt like had never eaten. I tried to go to sleep but I couldn't. So I end up killing the 1st thing my eyes laid on. Rice, I had a lot of it too. I don't know what to do to avoid this from happing again. Help me please!:smile2:

    should i be scared?

:biggrin:thanks everyone for the support. Happy to know i'm not alone.
  10. For the pass 3 years I've been going back and forth about having the lap band surgery. In December I finally made up my mind to have my surgery. I did my consult and seen all the doctor i was suppose to. During all that time i was really excited. I recently just paid for my surgery and started my pre-op diet. My surgery is scheduled for 3-26-10 and for some reason i'm getting scared. Has that happened to anyone?:smile2:
  11. i started my pre-op diet today, it's wasn't bad but the pills made me really nauseas. the pills wouldn't go down my throat. i drank several cups of water and it still felt like the pills were in my chest. Even later in the day when i went to go work out i felt like the pills were coming up. it felt really nasty.
