  1. Happy Birthday cariel!

  2. Happy 37th Birthday cariel!

  3. Thank you everyone who posted a reply, you are so motivational and can see things from another perspective. I will make an appt and request another fill. I was a little annoyed when I paid my co-pay for NOTHING at the last appt. (I can weigh myself at home for free!)
  4. That is so great! I bet you are on cloud nine and will be for quite some time!! Congratulations, doesn't that make all your hard work worth it? and TINY what a fun, great description to have someone use!!!!!!
  5. I know part of it is being lazy, but I am not losing weight. I've lost 20lbs and feel so much better, which is sort of been a curse for me. I do want to lose MUCH MUCH more, but just cant seem to get motivated. My band is right at 5.1 cc in a 10cc band, and I don't feel much restriction at all. Once in awhile if I eat something and then drink right after it gets stuck and will need to come back up, but other than that I seem to be able to eat whatever in fairlly large amounts. At my last appt my dr. suggested not getting a fill and just working on my self discipline.... that was sort of discouraging, if I had self discipline I wouldn't have needed the band to begin with. I'm feeling frustrated and just need to vent and hope some of you will have something encouraging to say.:tt2:
  6. Just read the "crying" part. I have not been crying, but I have been very easily agitated and irritable. Have no idea why, but I am sure having something put inside your body and all the drugs during surgery, as well as the mental part leading up to the surgery takes a toll on everyone in different ways!
  7. I was banded on the 28th and started to feel much better on Friday. Still tired and sore where i assume the port is, the largest of the 5 incisions. I also started walking on my treadmill 1 week post op, only 15 minutes, but more than I was doing pre-surgery. so I feel good about it. I am hungry, and have cheated on my liquid diet, which is also stressing me out. Anyway, good look at work tomorrow! You'll probably want to take a long, hot shower and a nap when you get home!
  8. Just an FYI, for my pre-op dr visits I was weighed 3 times, 3 different scales and offices, and 3 different weights!! It was crazy, I had not eaten anything and had the exact same clothes on! Just shows how your weight fluctuates!!

    is this pain normal?

I was banded last Thursday and I'm very sore around the port incision. Bending really causes a stabbing pain. (I had no idea how often I bend in a day prior to this) I've been told the ports are stitched into the muscle surrounding it and that ads to the pain.
  10. I was banded last Thursday and did well with the liquid diet until yesterday. I took a bite of food and now I've taken quite a few. Will any of you admit to this? if so, were there any consequences? I'm feeling really guilty.
  11. Ask your doctor if they will prescribe something for you to take the night before or morning of to help with your nerves. As hard as it is, just try to block out the specific parts that are making you the most nervous. It sounds ridiculous, but sort of play a mind game with yourself, maybe even convince yourself you won't have to have a catheter?? (this is how I survived childbirth, denial! and mindgames!!) Good luck!
