  3. Hi! I was hoping we could be band buddies since we were banded at the same time. Maybe we can give each other advice & support!

when will i feel "normal" again?

the not really knowing if i'm hungry or not is just such a weird feeling. obviously before i knew if i was hungry, i knew if i was full. i'm still on full liquids/mushies. i have been adding protein powder to thing so that i'm getting all the protein i'm supposed to have. so far i've just attributed it to having to relearn my body's signals since i've been banded. i just hope that within the next month i begin to understand my "new stomach" more & understand my hunger & fullness

    Just got my surgery date!

Congrats on the surgery date!! Its completely normal. When I got my surgery date, I was suddenly very nervous & anxious. The time will fly by and before you know it, it will be surgery time! And I'm sorry you don't have a strong support group, but this website is great for that. Believe me, any questions or anything, someone here has an answer for you! Good luck!

    Permanent Make up

I am certified in micropigmentation (along with being a hairstylist & makeup artist) & i have the say its a great procedure. Please be sure to research places in your area & do NOT go to the cheapest place. Its the same as getting a tattoo, you want someone who has good experience and good skills. Depending on where you live, the price varies. In Denver, its between $200-$450 depending on what you are doing. Honestly, the lips do have to be redone more than the eyes because that area doesnt hold the pigment as well over the years, it will fade faster. Of course, if you go to the same person for both the original procedure & touch up, the touch up will be less expensive. Just a piece of advice. Good luck!

    Faking comorbid conditions

i don't understand how or why you would lie/fake that. and yes, you would have to supply some sort of documentation for any legit insurance or surgeon. i was approved & aside from being obese, the other other condition i have is hypothyroidism. and that diabetes runs so strongly in my family. i guess i just don't understand why you would feel the need to lie or fake it. but thats just me.

    Please help

according to my dr's list of foods, when i get to stage 2, soft & moist, fish, turkey & tuna are all good. not pureed. just as long as they are moist, so they suggest like canned tuna in water, etc. but no i don't think you need to puree your fish
  13. i have a pain in my abs near my port. it is in the inside and it just feels a little tight. just sore right there. i am only 4 days post op, so i figure this is probably normal. but i am curious if anyone else had anything similar to this. i hope this makes sense, its kinda hard to describe
  14. this is very random but i saw in one of your posts that you are from Topeka originally. My family is all in Topeka (my fathers fam)..i spent nearly every summer there growing up. Have you heard of McFarlands restraunt? Thats is my family's restraunt. Just interesting to see someone from there

p.s you look great and congrats on all of your success. you are an inspiration

    Starting to question myself

i think its completely natrually to second guess yourself. but along wih the band you are learning new eating habits so it really isn't like other yo yo diet we've all been on throughout our lives. i think as long as you are mainting proper eating habits, you'll be fine. congrats on the weight loss thus far!!

also, there are all sorts of resources on the sidebar of this website. different financing, deals on lap band, etc. just another thing for you to look into

i was also thinking of suggesting Mexico. i have a friend here in colorado who's insurance would not cover her for lapband surgery. she actually traveled to mexico and had it done by a surgeon who has a LOT of experience, apparently he's been on tv shows and such talking about it. but it was very inexpensive for her, idon't remember exactly how much but i'm thinking less than $5,000. you could find an inexpensive trip down there. its worth looking into.
  20. yay denver! its awesome to have other people from around home on here! have you been banded yet, if so when? sorry i'm totally nosey lol

    What do you all do?

I am a hairstylist & makeup artist at an amazing little rock & roll inspired salon called Luxe de Vil. I love every minute of it, its the place i always dreamed about working while I was going through school. I couldn't have found a better place!

    Fat Friend in the Group

people are so stupid. i'm sorry you had to even deal with that, but i hate girls & guys like that. like you said, its makes you more motivated to lose the weight and once you do, they are going to be the same girls that are throwing themselves at you! i just hate that people are so rude.

    just banded last wednesday

my main problem is that i don't really know when i'm hungry or not. lol i know that sounds weird but because i know my body is readjusting and as my sister said, i'm having to relearn my bodys signals. sometimes ill eat a few bites of mashed potatoes just so i feel full then all of the sudden i feel hungry like an hour later. then sometimes i dont get hungry at all. i don't know. but i did talk to the dr from my support group today & she said that as long as i'm eating 5 small meals (even though its only a few bites at a time) i should be just fine
  24. I'm glad to hear that it was easy for you to go back to work so soon, I am also a hairstylist / makeup artist, and i go back to work on tuesday so i'm def. glad to hear it!
