  1. Thank you...I apologize in my tardiness in responding. I am still trying to figure out this website! :)

My first fill isn't until July 6th! Grrrrrrrr. 17 more days!

  2. Thank you so much. :) When I look at the pictures I can see a difference, but when I look at the number on the scale my frustration is still there. I saw my PCP today, and she actually thinks I am not getting enough calories. She believes I should be at 1200. I might bump it up for a few days and see what happens.

Thanks again for your kind words and support. This too shall pass...

  3. Hi! I went to a support group at St. Alexius last night. I was so glad that I went! It was a small group and really provided me with some insight.

I'm still stuck with the same number on the scale, and I am getting very frustrated. I guess I just keep plugging away. 3 more weeks until my first fill....it seems like it will never get here!

  4. Hi there! I just got home about 20 minutes ago, and I am feeling great. A little gassy, but I can handle that. My experience at St. Alexius was wonderful; I couldn't have asked for better care than I received there.

Now I am looking through my paperwork trying to figure out what I can have right now. I am slowly sipping on Special K Protein water; sipping is difficult. I'm afraid of drinking too much and throwing up. I guess I just need to listen to my body.

I lost 33 lbs pre-surgery, so I feel like I have a good jump on this. I want to be a smashing success!

Thanks for checking in on me!!! :)

  5. You, too! How are you feeling? I am a nervous wreck, but ready to get this done!

  6. How are you feeling today? I am overwhelmed and very nervous. The pre-op diet has been so hard. My kids are eating McDonald's right now and I would love to go eat some fries! LOL! What time is your surgery tomorrow? Mine is at 8:30. Keep in touch, and good luck tomorrow!

  7. Tomorrow is my big day! Surgery at 8:30 at St. Alexius. This liquid diet has been the hardest thing in the world. I am crabby, irritable, and hungry. The thought of not eating anything solid for another 2-3 weeks is overwhelming. How are you doing post-op?

  8. Tomorrow is my big day! I am scared and nervous and excited all at the same time. :)

  9. I will turn 40 on August 11th...we can do this! 40 & Fabulous!

  10. I have not had the surgery yet. I have two more weeks on my supervised diet/exercise. I heard from the coordinator at my surgeon's office yesterday and she said we could tentatively do May 17th as my surgery day as long as insurance gives an approval before May 7th. I just want to have that final approval so I can breathe a sigh of relief. I am just ready to move forward with this.

I have not attended any of the meetings at St. Alexius. Do they have meetings for pre-surgery? Do you find them helpful?

I am still nervous, scared, overwhelmed, hopeful...the list goes on. I have not kept my surgery a secret, and now I wonder if I have set myself up for failure. I so much want this to work for me!

Thanks for taking the time to respond. This board has really been so helpful over the past month.

  11. Hi there. Congrats on passing your stock brokers license test...what a huge relief for you! :)

Wow...50 lbs! That is awesome. I have managed to finally get my act together during the last 6 weeks of my 6 month doctor supervised diet, and I have lost about 10 lbs. I have been really good with my water intake and my exercise by walking 2.25 miles a day 4-5 days a week. It is helping me feel stronger, and I hope I can carry that strength into my surgery.

  12. Right now I have the "too good to be true" feeling going on as well. My insurance through my employer will not cover WLS, so I got creative and picked up my hubby's insurance in January. I am fulfilling the 6 month waiting period right now, and as I said, I am struggling to make any progress with losing weight before surgery. I compare myself to others and am reading how a lot of people lost 30-50 lbs before surgery on their own. I'm just not able to get it going right now. I think it is a psychological block

You are truly an inspiration. Congrats on a job well done. Thank you so much for taking the time to message me. :)

  13. Oh my goodness...Jazzercise is my exercise of choice. Every single time that I have had any success at losing a substantial amount of weight has been with Jazz as my friend. Right now I am at my heaviest weight ever, and I tried to go back to get started, but I am so frustrated with myself for gaining all of this weight back, and I remember what I used to be able to do during a class.

I know that the surgery will only be a tool for me in helping me achieve my goals. I am just so damned tired of my weight running my life; it is the first thing I think of in the morning, and I obsess over it throughout the day.

  14. Hi there. My name is Linda. Thanks for responding. I really like Dr. Wagner, but I especially love his staff. They have been so wonderful. Brittani calls me every 2 weeks to let me know where I am in the insurance process.

So tell me about yourself...when did you have the surgery? How have you done? Do you regret it?

Thanks again for taking the time to talk to me!

  15. I am just going to repeat what others have said. I just posted my first post on this group today. I will have my surgery in May. I feel hopeless some days, but your pictures have given me hope beyond my wildest dreams. I cried while looking at your pics. Awesome job! Thank you for inspiring all of us!
