  1. Mine was yesterday....felt quick...almost had to make him look at the incisions...LOL! we talked briefly about when to call for a fill...bam! Done. Kinda disappointing....frankly, its almost like "you're done, no need to talk" with the program coordinator as well. I'm not a high maintenance patient, but do have some questions that I feel kinda dumb calling about, more from the feeling that I'm interrupting than anything. Started to notice the change when I got within a week of the surg. No contact at all from the program coordinator post-op at all. Oops, sorry to vent...hope yours is a productive visit.

  2. Hi all you new bandsters! I was banded the 19th, and want to let you know that feeling better is just around the corner .

The first several days it was just as you are all describing. Heck, I didn't even check my computer for the 1st 3 days home after spending 2 days in the hospital. Day 6 was still rough, but the turning point came at Day 7, and I am feeling exponentially better each day to where today, Day 11 I feel mostly normal. I know its difficult struggling through a protien shake [it took me more that 3 hours to get one down!], but take the time to rest and heal. Sip you liquids, walk and sleep. In no time flat you'll be right as rain.

  3. Sorry to be so indelicate, but I'm struggling a bit......had serg on Monday the 19th....was required to do the full Milk o' mag cleanse so was "empty" on Monday. Its now Sunday, so a full week later and nothing...just some gas. However, it feels like I need to "go", but nothing...very crampy and uncomfortable. What can/should I do? How long does it normally take to get things "moving" again? I've been adding a spoon of Benefiber to my shakes the last couple of days and have made sure to do some walking everyday....now trying a bit of coffee.....HELP!

  4. wanted to check in and offer some encouragement to our end-of-the-month bandster bunnies! I know most of us have moved into the post-op world, but you are still out here having the pre-op jitters. i won't lie and say it hasn't been tough, but its all worth it when you see your BMI going down and knowing that its for your health. Best of luck to all of you!

  5. I am intriged that noone seems to factor pain meds into the return to work analysis. Seeing how loratab is liquid vicodin, it would seem that DRIVING to work would be problematic unless you are pain med free....just because a person "feels ok" doesn't mean that they are not driving under the influence.... for me, I'm really glad I took 2 weeks, as this is the end of the 1st week and I'm still hurting with pain meds every 3-4 hours....can't imagine going to the office in 2 days.

  6. I was banded the 19th. My hats off to anyone who goes home the same day....even with an overnight it was tough. obviously, if you are "outpatient" you are outpatient, but if you have the opportunity to just relax and recoop, i'd urge you to take it....its not like you won't be fully responsible for your recovery soon enough!

  7. I'll be a Banded Bunny tommorrow as well. Arrival time, 7am with kickoff at 830. I will also be staying overnight, and sadly have been told not so much as Water by mouth until after radiology gets done with me sometime on Tues :). I know each doctor is different, but when people routinely go home same day, I have a hard time believing its essential to leave me w/out anything by mouth from Midnight tonight thru Tues afternoon....but the die is cast and I have faith in my surgeon so I will just have to make due.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Tues. Best of luck to my 19th litter-mates!

  8. Hi everyone, hope all april bunnies are doing GREAT. This april bunnie is in hospital today for a blood clot. Doc said i will be here a few days. very scary. please send prayer. For some reason i keep putting my band date as the 12th but actually its the13th go figure. i went for post opt check up, had leg pain next thing test then admitted on bedrest:crying::laugh:

Oh Dear! Sending you lots of good wishes for a speedy recovery!!!!

  9. I've heard stories at my support group about the soda bubbling up in the pouch and it backing up into the bronchi branch off....causing immediate choking and caughing.....bad stuff! One woman had the same problem with drinking a really foamy protien drink to quickly. I do not intend to drink soda ever again.

Hi! relax.....you have plenty of time for the nose to unblock...push liquids and be good to yourself.

    You're well on your way with 8.8lbs gone [2.2 lbs = 1kilo]...

Stick to the boards, they are a great help with questions and just general support!

  11. I had my pre op yesterday and was told that because I have BCBS that they require my to stay overnight even though my surgery is at 7:30AM. I have to admit that I was quite disappointed about that too!!! I found out yesterday at my pre op that I had lost 16.6 pounds after 8 days of pre op diet! YEA ME!!!

Good Luck to you an the 19th!!! I will be thinking about you when I go in. Anyone else here scheduled for the 19th too?

Fantastic start to the weightloss..just think, every pound we lose now is one less to lose later, eh?

There are two other April Bandster Bunnies that I chat with..if you go to my profile page, you can find them in my contacts....we are all nice and looking forward to having four of us at the same stage for moral support.

  12. It seems like I am the only one that can have only liquids.

(10 day diet) My BMI is like 35.8. I am so hungry I could eat my shoe. I wonder why it is that some people get to eat?

Nope, you are not alone . This is day 10 of all-liquids-all-the-time. Hang in there...I've had some days that are more hungry than others...heck, I'm up typing now because the rumbly-in-the-tumbly woke me up! I hope it gets better for you soon....

  13. Had my hospital pre-op today, confirmed I will be staying overnight....yuck! I must confess I'm a bit jealous of you all who are home in less time than it takes to watch a double-feature :-) I was told no Gas-X or listerine films...nothing by mouth at all same day until my radiology scan 24 hours later....so 36 hour dry mouth here I come!

All systems are a go for the 19th, pending my final consult with my surgeon on Friday, but as I am at the upper end of what he wanted on the pre-op diet, it should all be fine. Now if I can just get all the work that will need to be done next week out of the way in the next 3 days....sometimes it really stinks to be Superwoman...!
