    Is it normal...

I had a similar pain at about 2-3 weeks post op. It hurt to get in and out of the car, bending over, laughing, lay on my left side, etc and it was awful!! It was so bad that I had to take pain meds for it. I went to my doc and he said it's common in sleeve patients at some point after surgery. Could be a muscle strain (I was playing basketball with my kids - not so smart) or the muscles healing after being cut during surgery. I definitely suggest contacting your doctor. Feel better!!

When did you start to feel hunger?

I'm 14 days post op and thought that I was hungry after the first week. Not that I know of this is the case for you, but here is what happened to me and my crazy hunger. I've had the starving feeling pre sleeve when I would eat and immediately feel starving so I would eat more. I honestly thought it was hormonal and a sign that it was my time of the month. I used to try to eat away the feeling since I thought it was hunger. That only made it worse! Damn hormones, so I thought. After being concerned I read the FAQ on this site for the sleeve and it said the hunger could be heart burn or indigestion. It had never dawned in me! I started taking the Pepcid my surgeon prescribed and I take Tums when I have the feeling and it goes away.i feel pretty silly that I didn't know what it was, but at least now I know!!! That's my lightbulb moment! Hang in there - You will get through it. good luck!

    Advice please band to sleeve

Wow - our stories are so similar! I was banded for the second time in dec 2010 after a removal for slippage. Lost about 70 pounds, had an unfill due to nausea that just got worse and the 'zone' was never to be found again. The only thing I found was about 40 pounds of the weight I lost. Mead the band out on Oct 29, 2014. Gained about 30 more pounds and was approved for the sleeve. Had it done on April 10 and have lost about 20'pounds so far. I'm getting used to this new way of living - feels very different from the post band surgery from what I can remember. Had my first over eating episode with nausea yesterday. Learned my lesson! Have had slight mourning for old habits - Friday night pizza and drinks on the deck .... But then i step on the scale and realize how good I feel, dinner hour passes and the food is forgotten, the excitement about losing continues!!! No regrets, just hopeful feelings - something I haven't had in a while! Good luck with your journey. Rely on your family and friends, do your own research, and be honest with yourself about whether you are willing to make the serious changes necessary to be successful. The surgery is just a small part, you have to be ready to take control!

4 Days Til My Big Day!

Me too!! I'm trying not to think about it too much! I'm a band to sleever so I a good idea of what to expect in the first few weeks afterwards. It's a little tough but the good thing is that it will get better. The best part is that I know the sleeve will work for me. Had a tough time with the band for about 4 years. We can do this!!

    March Sleevers

I'm Loryn and also Scheduled for March 25th also at UNC. The team at UNC is AMAZING!! I can't wait to get started!! I'm a band to sleever and ready get this show on the road. I've had my band out for about 5 months and gained almost 30 pounds. So much for being able to do this battle without a tool. I am 100% confident about my success a and committed to do what I need to do to make it happen. I have been a lurker on his site for several years and I'm ready to be more active and jump in to connect with others going through the journey. Thank you all for the support, information, wisdom, and insight you have provided me over the years when you didn't even know it! March 25th can't come soon enough! Loryn

Approved and have my date- YAYY

My suggestion is to just look forward and picture yourself living a healthier life! I was one of the posters in the removal section. I had a major slip and had my band removed in May. After having some tests, I found out that I have healed well and am going to have the band replaced next week.I never thought I'd be so excited for surgery but I am. The band was the best gift I've ever given myself (or the best gift from my insurance co) and I bet that in a few months, you will feel the same. Good luck!!!
