It's a long story, I suppose, but similar to everything you know about yourself as well. Check out my blog at www.singinglapbander.blogspot.com for more details :).

Short story is that I had the LapBand installed by a big name surgery group in California in January 2010. After losing over 100 pounds, while receiving horrible after care, my LapBand was diagnosed as slipped when I moved to Virginia in July 2011. Insurance didn't cover the removal, so I endured with "soft food syndrome" (eating anything and everything that would go down, often this would be high calorie beverages) until I changed jobs and finally got insurance that would cover removal. I had the LapBand removed in March 2013 and am saddened to have regained all but 30 pounds of my original loss. Fortunately, I got "sleeved" on June 7, 2013 and am never looking back! I have a phenomenal doctor and staff now to work with and am looking forward to doing this the right way!
