Yes I think you would do great on WW, I have loss 8 pounds since joining 5 weeks ago and it has been really easy to stay on track. I went to my lapband PA on yesterday and was praised yet again for my weight loss and I told them I had joined WW and they said it was fine. I eat all of my 29 points and a little more than half of my flex points and still been able to lose fine. Good luck on your decision but I do recommend WW.
I had thought about it, but I ddn't know if it would work with the lapband. My dr is so blah about what should be my calorie intake. He keeps stressing Protein, Protein, protein. A friend of mine wants to go on a buddy system at Weight Watchers. I told her I would think about it, so it would be okay to do WW while banded, huh.

Hello all, I was banded on March 19, 2010 starting at 246 lbs the day of surgery 239 and by November 2010 with 3 fills and 5.5cc's in band I made it to 191 lbs and kinda stayed between 188-191 for 4 months. Old habits started creeping in, not eating large quantities but eating too many sweets and such, so while reading this forum I decided to joined WW 2 weeks ago and had my 4th fill bringing me to 6cc's ......I have loss 5.2 since joining WW and sooooo glad I did because I was eating way too much and I think you guys are right lapband + restriction+WW= weight-loss and success. It really has been easier to stay with my points each day and I barely use my flex points but some times I do use some. Hope this helps someone who is considering joining WW for a little more structure and accountability.

Hello and yes we made it thru 1 year, I have lost 55 lbs and very excited, would have loved to be down more but I am still excited. I have been fluctuating between 188-191 for 3 months I need a fill really bad. I will be getting my 4th fill on March 29th and it is really needed because my cravings are back and I am eating way to much also thinking about food all the time...that is a sure sign for me. Congratulations to all of us for great success!

OMG!!! i ate soooo bad since Christmas Eve but I am back on the grind today. Counting calorie, measuring my food and of course drinking lots of Water. Hopefully the 5 lbs is just Fluid cause I have been going to the bathroom a lot from all the water I'm drinking. I am focused on getting these last 25 lbs off....looking forward to maintenance.

I was feeling that tired and so out of it and I started taking B12 and it has made the world of difference. A friend of mine had the gastric (we have the same surgeon) and she just told me that I can ask for a prescription for the B12 shots and give them to myself. She also said she knows that it helped her get to her goal quicker too. I go back to my bariatric doctor on November 30th and hopefully I can switch to the shot instead of the pill. Hope this helps!

Hello, about 3 weeks ago I was feeling sluggish and depressed wondering why, especially after going from 246 lbs to 195 lbs I should have been bouncing off the walls. My sister told me she started taking B-12 (she does not know I have lapband) and it was keeping her balanced and more energy. I started and boy does it make a BIG difference, so I am taking (at bedtime) Centrum chewables, B-12, B-6, Vitamin D, folic acid and Viactiv Calcium chews...now I feel complete and whole again.

I Have also fallen in love with the sf instant pudding mix..I put 1/4 of the packet in my smoothies also I use Silk unsweetened, 1 sheet of lowfat graham crackers and a few marshmallows and it is soooo good. I Love My Band!!!!!!!!

I started low carbing when I hit a plateau, it is not the only way I lose but after my initial 44 lb loss it slowed for 3 weeks so I decided to go strict with Atkins and only eat 20 grams and 1000 cals so in 6 days I dropped 5 pounds. My plateau is over, made it to onderland today..198.8 was stalled at 202-203 for 3 wks. It's much easier now with the band. I Love my band!!!!

I can honestly say that I love my band too. Congratulations on your success, I am down 43 lbs since March 19th and feeling so amazing. Current weight is 202.6...so close to onderland and will probably do the happy dance when I meet that goal.

Hi I was banded my Dr. Enochs on March 19th and would love to chat about your journey. I am a very positive person when it comes to my band and a stick by the program type person but I do cheat every now and then (it keeps me grounded). Lol!..... my email is barbarabachi@yahoo.com.

Hello, I was banded on March 19th and they said no coffee (I simply love the stuff) so about 4 weeks out I had a cup and my blood sugar dropped (not a diabetic) and really felt horrible, however that would happen sometimes before I was banded. My girlfriend got banded 3 weeks after me and asked the nutritionist about her friend (which was me) not being able to have coffee and she said the reason was that it could cause low blood sugar. When I moved to solids I had no problems with coffee and enjoy a cup daily. Coffee is fine but not right away because you are eating so little at first. Hope this helps.

Hello, my doctor says that some people can go a long time for a fill because the placement of the band gives us some form of restriction because everyone's stomach wall if different. Some may have a thick stomach wall or a thin one, that's why you may not need one right away. I was banded on March 19, 2010 and had my first fill on May 4th with 2cc total in my 10cc band and I feel that I have restriction, I tend to fill it more when I eat meats first like I am suppose to. Can't say I am hungry just eat when I am suppose to so I can get 80 grams of Protein and 900-1200 calories a day.
I LOVE MY BAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am starting my 7th week on friday and OMG i am so freaking happy and i do repeat happy with my BAND. i go in on may 4th for my first fill and am excited about it. This is my opinion, if a person is not happy with there band either they are non-compliant and/or impatient. Make sure you follow the rules and your portion sizes and exercise.

So glad you posted this, I am newly banded as of March 19th and am very pleased with my band and the results. I am an extremely positive person and I simply ignore all the negative post (my doctor's PA even told be to believe half of what I read on this post and to follow the positive) but would be excited NOT to see so many "I'm discouraged" post.

Hi, i feel your pain....congratulations on your 20 pound loss. I was banded on march 19, 2010 and have lost 16 pounds since surgery and 24 pounds total. I think you may be eating too many carbs, my doc told me to eat 80 to 100 grams of Protein and drink 80 ounces of Water a day (not so good with the water). My menu consist of...3 turkey sausage links and 40z of greek yogurt....bumble bee tuna sensations and 10 almonds or laughing cow cheese......3 to 4 turkey meatballs in marinara sauce and 1/4 cup of steamed broccoli ...a protein shot if i am not at 80 grams and a pudding before 9pm (need something sweet to close my evening. I eat around 1100 calories a day sometimes less sometimes a little more. Hope this helps!

Hello, I am on week six and I just started back on my coffee. I have Starbucks at least 4 times a week and this is what I order....Grande skinny vanilla latte add Protein and one equal. Total calories is 160 with a total of 18 grams of protein, 130 calories for the latte and 30 calories for the scoop of protein. Ask for the nutritional pamphlet when you visit starbucks but my info is correct. Hope this is healthful and yes I am still losing weight with my coffee intake.

I have no problem eating my 29 pts with 6cc in my band, and some weeks I eat more flex points than others especially if they are slider foods. Some days I am not as hungry so I may have 1 or 2 of my daily pts left, but WW is certainly what I needed to get the ball rolling again and the pounds dropping. I love my BAND!!!!!!!!!!!
