  1. Hi Everyone,

So I am craving salt! It's insane, but all I want is salt. Has anyone else had this happen? I'm a little over two weeks post op. Today, I mashed up some potatoes, and poured on the salt. I think i'm drinking so much and eating so little that my sodium levels are no doubt a little low. I have my phone appointment with Dr. Alami today, and I'm hoping he moves me to Phase III....wish me luck. :)

I'm 9 months out, and although I've never been much of a salt user, I love it now. I noticed this craving a few months ago and wondered if it was due to some deficiency. I will be interested to hear what your doctor says.

  2. I'm down 2 lbs. I won't be down 10. I just don't see how I'll get down 10 by Wednesday. But I think some loss is better then none. I am back on track and have been working out daily. Out of my funk with the sleep apnea machine and life. I'm really excited about seeing Dr. Le on Wednesday.

for anyone who has had the sleeve down a while ago., can you resume normal activity with working out eventually? If so, how long did it take? I know everyone is different. Just wondering.

There is no lifting of anything over 20 lbs until you meet with the doctor, 1 month after your surgery. You can then resume exercising.

  3. Thanks for your good thoughts and prayers. I have an appointment on Wed. in SF with a surgeon. I am still being referred to the transplant team but it looks like the plan is to cut out part of the liver with the tumors.

Right now, I'm on pureed foods, which often go down like cement! My liver specialist doesn't want me losing more than 3 pounds a week because it's hard on the liver, making this whole process a little more stressful! Other than that, my recovery has gone very well.

  4. Hi Everyone,

I had the sleeve surgery on Oct. 20. During the surgery, Dr. Baggs saw a nodule on my liver and biopsied. it. It came back cirrhosis. Then, a few days later, I learned I had liver cancer. As a light drinker, this was shocking. My liver specialist told me that being overweight is as bad for the liver as being a heavy drinker. Hopefully, early detection will save my life. I won't know more until my CAT scan results for Monday's tests are back.

Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers,

    Karen

  6. Did you go through all the appts already? It is that far out???? I want the sleeve. NOW! HAHA

I think I get nervous and screw myself up so have not lost the last ten pounds :(

I went to Orientation last January and took forever to lose the weight. It sounds like you are doing fine but I was disappointed to hear how far out they are scheduling teh surgery.
