    Spring into March 2010 Bandsters

Surgery done on March 12th, 2010 in Juarez MX, no real significant post-op problems. Absolutely NO appetite, not sure what I think about that! Drinking clear fluids and trying to make sure I don't get dehydrated. Jello, broth, and water are okay I guess. The doctor sent me home with antibiotics and Toradol for post-op and I found out that my band is Lapand VG system, which is the newest one I believe. I have the card and the box even it came in  Anyways, fluoroscopy showed that I have reallly good restriction from the inflammation, that could attribute to no hunger whatsoever. So far so good, port is a bit sore, tired, and having to force myself to drink!!
  2. Surgery tomorrow for me...finishing up packing my last few things, getting a shower, and going to bed!!! 3 am comes awful early and I would rather sleep in the plane and forget about the hunger pains and being thirsty!! So, it's finally here and it's very exciting, I've had my date for like 3 months, so yeah I've been doing a lot of preparing, but nothing prepares you for leaving the US to go to MX. The only thing that is really cool is that we've had some cold weather come back in my area, and it's going to be like 68 to 71 degrees where I'm headed  I will let you all know how everything goes, they have internet connection in the hospital and I'm taking my laptop!!:blushing:

    Spring into March 2010 Bandsters

Tomorrow is my day :blushing: I have a lot of different emotions running through my head right now!! I'm not scared of the procedure itself, or even that fact I'm having it in Mexico, but moreso how I am going to be afterwards. I want my life to change, but I don't want to become so vain that I'm a scale watcher and a slave to it. So, with that being said...God please give me the strength to remain humble!!
  4. I hope that everything goes really well for you tomorrow as well, I'm taking my computer with me to Mexico and hope that I feel well enough to post :)

  5. You too natrlblonde. I'm leaving at 4 am for the airport and should be in surgery before 2 pm tomorrow!! Take care and talk to you on the other side!! It's very exciting and I can't believe it's here!!!!

From what I hear, muscle milk is one of the tastier shakes, but I can't say because I haven't ever tried them. I know that they are a bit more carbs then I'd care to take in so I drink 0 carb isopure, which is horrible, but I mask it with coffee in the morning. I drink GNC WHEYBOLIC EXTREME banana cream with only 4.3 carbs and 40 protein for lunch or supper, depending on what time I have a meal. I really like the banana cream flavor a lot, and I blend it in the magic bullet with ice and it seems a bit more palatable like that.

GREAT!!!! I was hoping that you'd find a solution, you were so close to getting it done and I hated to see you being held back because of money issues!!! I'm so excited for you, I bet you feel relieved!
  12. Hi Jeri..added you as a friend! It is a wonderful place to come for encouragement. I have my surgery date longer then most because I'm doing it over Spring Break in my last semester of RN school. I've found that there is a wealth of information on the site and I especially like the CHAT feature where you can discuss things in real time with others that have not been banded or those that are banded. Most of the time, everyone is willing to offer an ear and give some pretty good advice.
