  1. I hope I am too but I had sips of cold tea from 11 to 3 pm. Then at 4 pm out of nowhere it came back up. I've never been this bad after a fill.
  2. The coffee goes down with less pain than cold liquids though. I can't wait for Monday to come! On a side note after hovering between 173 and 175 for weeks now I hit 169 today. Of course I know it's just from not eating at all.
  3. They can't be crushed, split or chewed. They have to be swallowed whole because they are extended release meds. If I split or crush them at all then they will be immediate release instead of extended release.
  4. I realized after I posted this that it's a dumb question and I should just skip it but I just now got to the point where it's NOT kicking my butt all day. I hate to go back to that.
  5. I tried my pharmacist but he was no help. 10 days ago I started a psych medication called Seroquel XR. It can't be cut in half and it makes you extremely sleepy, dizzy, dopey at first. To get rid of those effects you have to keep taking it daily so your body will adjust. So here I am, too tight and I can't get an unfill until Monday. This pill is a little larger than a Tylenol capsule shaped tablet. Do I try to take with some coffee or warm Water or skip it? If I skip it it maybe Tuesday before I can take it again and by then I'm afraid I will super sleepy again. The sleepiness was just starting to get 50% better.
  6. While I'm waiting for an unfill- what is all this foamy stuff I keep burping up? Today I have had 2 cups of coffee all day and that's it, I'm burping a lot though and it's foamy stuff. Why is that and what can I do for it?
  7. Because when I can eat chicken and bread I'm also hungry all the time. For now my surgeon says to stick to liquids and he will see me on Monday.
  8. Oh gosh. I was up at 3 am throwing up and with my chest/back hurting. I called the office just now and the nurse told me that the surgeon is busy in surgery all day and that I'm probably just tight from swelling. She told me to keep doing liquids and she will let him know and see what he says. Liquids are all I can do, nothing else goes down and I can't imagine having to feel this way until Monday. I told her I could meet him at the hospital if need be. I'm fine with that. I just want some relief. She said she would tell him that but that it's possible I don't need an unfill.
  9. I can eat a Popsicle but no more than half of one. More than that and I throw up.
  10. No actually it was like a month ago. A month ago I got a fill and was super tight so I went back to the doctor. He said I wasn't too tight I just needed to eat slower and let the swelling go down. I did that and within a week I was able to eat bread and chicken again- I haven't been able to eat those in months. So Tuesday I saw my doc again and he said my band needed to be tighter and he added a .5 cc. Since then icant even get a shake down.
  11. My surgeons office closes at noon tomorrow and my surgeon is in surgery all day tomorrow. I got .5 cc's added on Tuesday. Since then I haven't been able to eat anything-even ice cream got stuck and came up. Today I've had like 8 cups of hot coffee and some hot tea. Hot, thin liquids are all I can get down and I have to sip those. I've tried eating but I throw up everytime. A while ago I took 2 tiny pills with some hot tea. They went down fine but I now have pressure in my chest and tons of slime. It's possible in so tight due to the swelling. I threw up within an hour of my fill and I've thrown up 10 or 12 times since then. I'm thinking with the weekend here I should just get some removed instead. What do you think?
  12. A friend of mine that was banded over a year ago is having her gallbladder removed tomorrow. Her weight loss has caused horrible gallbladder attacks. Luckily she works at our surgeons office so she gets awesome immediate and free care. Our surgeon said it's very typical to have gallstones and gallbladder attacks after losing a significant amount of weight.
  13. Okay for me losing weight is now getting harder. I think it's because I'm so close to goal. Due to various reasons I don't exercise like I should and I think it's time to push myself on that. I called a local gym here and I can get a membership for $40 a month and a personal trainer is $30 an hour. If I can only do 2 hours a week that would be a great start right? Have any of you used a trainer? How long did you need the trainer before you started to workout solo? At $30 an hour I'd be paying $240 for the first month just for a trainer but I feel like at this point it's an investment in myself. Any advice for me?
  14. I think you can eat so many calories because of your exercise:) I hope to be exercising as much as you do soon.
  15. I can't drink more than 1/8 of a cup of liquids an hour. Any more than that and I throw up. It's taking me forever to drink my Protein shakes. My coffee though, I guess since it's hot, goes down really easily. I know it could just be swelling- I threw up 5 or 6 times yesterday afternoon. Now I'm slowing way down and sipping on things. If I'm still like this Friday morning should I go for a slight unfill before the weekend or wait it out a bit longer? A month ago I was like this and it kept up for almost 2 weeks and it was all from swelling. As soon as the swelling went away, BAM I could eat anything again including bread and chicken.
  16. Post op I put all sorts of soups in my Magic Bullet and purred them. If they were creamy I just added some water. They were actually really good like that and more filling than just broth.
  17. Sweets are my problem also. The richer it is the more I like it and the sweets always go down so easily! Congrats On your goal Monica!
  18. Also, meant to ask, when you goes for a fill do you feel like you're being picked apart? At my surgeons office the nurse talks to you first before the surgeon does the fill. They ask you 10,000 questions about what you eat and when. How much you drink and when. How much you exercise and when and what type. Then they tell you what you should do and tell you where your mistakes are. Sometimes it's discouraging to me because I mean, if I knew how to do this I wouldn't need a Lap Band. Does that make sense?
  19. My surgeon told me NO liquid calories. Eat real food instead and use the shakes to make sure I'm getting 65 grams of Protein a day. I can eat 65-90 grams of protein a day with no problems so I haven't been doing shakes. Yesterday I went for another fill. This time I got a different nurse and she told me that I should buy some extra Protein drinks and supplements and use them when I'm hungry between meals. She said if I'm hungry between meals instead of snacking on real food I should drink a Protein shake instead to curb my appetite. So what is your take on the shakes?
  20. Thanks everyone! No real tips I just try to stay away from sweets- including sweetened beverages like tea. I try to not snack and eat lean meats at meal time. Lately I've been super busy with my college courses. Between that and my kids I stay so busy that I don't even think about snacking through the day. I feel SO GOOD about myself now! The only downfall is I'm spending more money than ever on myself. I have new clothes, jewelry, makeup, new haircut and color. Now I just need sone new shoes. Shopping is finally fun again!!
  21. Hopefully someone here will have a suggestion for you but I'm thinking you might want to ask your doctor. It could be a yeast/fungal infection.
  22. Don't judge my befores too harshly. At that time I had a newborn at home that was screaming 24/7 and not sleeping so my hair was never done and I was never dressed up. I know in this pic I look pregnant but I was actually like 4 months post partem. This is a size 18/20 taken at the start of my Pre Op diet: This is me yesterday in my new size 10 jeans:) :
  23. I have some of the same questions. I'm about to schedule a consult for a TT. I think it's awesome that you only have to pay $2K!
  24. Wow! I'm trying to settle on a goal weight and rather than a weight I have a size in mind. I want to be a 6. I'm currently a 10. Just wondering what to expect since I plan to have a tummy tuck.
