  1. Well I just measured my chest and it's a 32. My bras are 36 and 38. Maybe I should start with a smaller band size. LOL When do bra sizes get so complicated?
  2. I started out a D cup. Well lately my boobs are shrinking and my D cup is too big. So I bought some C cups, Granted I bought push up bras so maybe that's the issue but, my D bras were push ups also. Anyway, My C cups seem too small or something. My boobs end up pushed up over the edge of the cup so when I put my shirt on I get that 4 boob look going on. How do I find a bra that fits right? What size/brand should I try?
  3. Me! I peeled mine off after 5 days and started using Benadryl cream around the edges. My surgeon said that was fine.
  4. I agree also. You HAVE to write down everything you eat. It keeps you aware of what and how much your actually eating. Also drink water only. 8-10 glasses a day.
  5. I got a really good deal on 3 cans of it. 2 chocolate and 1 vanilla. They have 15 grams of Protein and 5 grams of Fiber per serving. I thought maybe with the fiber in it it would keep me full longer. Well I haven't tried the vanilla yet but I have opened the chocolate. It's not good. It's very bland and doesn't really taste like chocolate. I have to add coffee to it or cocoa powder and splenda just so I can drink it. Then when you get to the bottom the last few drinks are super, super gritty, like your drinking sand. I'm assuming that's the fiber in it and it just settles to the bottom rather than mixing into it. This is something I definitely will not buy again. Just thought I'd post my review in case any of you are interested:)
  6. The inches are amazing aren't they? My waist is still getting smaller even though my scale hasn't moved.
  7. I have no idea. LOL I'm just wondering why people do it and what does it really for you. According to the website it says it will make your pouch tighter, but I can't understand how it would.
  8. or does it really work? Since being banded I've seen it mentioned in different places. I can't understand though how or why it would work so I'm wondering is it for real? Have any of you tried it?
  9. Shirley- it's stomach growling hunger Zen-I've had my uterus removed but still have my ovaries so it could be cycle related
  10. Thanks! I'm down 12 pounds since my last fill. My PCP has set a lower goal weight for me because I have arthritis in my knees. The theory is less weight=less knee pain, I hope anyway:)
  11. My last fill was sometime in May I think. Anyway it was so tight I had to have an unfill and I went 2 weeks on just liquids. After those 2 weeks I was good. I could eat small amounts and wasn't hungry. Now suddenly for the past week I'm starving and I can't seem to stay below my daily calorie count. After being in so much pain from the overfill I said I would not get another fill any time soon so how else do I handle the hunger? I can also eat bigger portions than what I was eating. I'm drinking 8-10 glasses of Water a day and I try to focus my meals on solid Protein like steak, roast etc. because they keep me full for longer. I would like to do my best to manage this without a fill b/c I'm scared of getting overfilled again and because I now weigh 161 and my surgeon doesn't want me getting below 160 so I don't think he'd even do another fill. My personal goal though and the goal my PCP set for me is 145- That will bring me to a normal BMI. Advice? How often should you be doing fills? Oh and in the middle of starving for the past week last Friday I suddenly got tight for several hours and couldn't eat, but then it went away and I was fine again. What's going on?
  12. Not for my band. I didn't even need pain meds for my band. I had one with my hysterectomy though.
  13. I see a lot of WLS cookbooks but the ones I've seen are for gastric bypass. The recipes are usually something that would be too dry for me to eat. Are there any that are just for banders?
  14. I think your just healing still. Are you getting plenty of sleep at night?
  15. For a multi Vitamin I think I'm going to go with Celebrate. Nutritionally it seems to be the most complete. Currently all I take is Vitafusion gummy Vitamins. Do I need anything else? Like Vitamin D or B?
  16. You have to work with it. Count calories and protein. Exercise and get your water in.
  17. I couldn't feel my port at first. Once I lost about 30 pounds then I could feel it.
  18. I aim for 65 grams a day. How many fills have you bad? Do you feel any restriction? My weight loss didn't really get going good until my third fill.
  19. With my clothing that is! I'm now in a size 8! I haven't been this small in 14 years:) I'm so excited. My goal was to be a size 6. It looks like I might get their faster than I thought. I was banded last August and started in a size 18/20.
  20. I was told bread might get stuck but that some people can eat it. I've had it twice this week. The first time it was no problem. Today I had it at lunch and it went down just fine, no pain or anything. Now 4 hours later I'm swollen. I can only take small drinks and I'm burping foam when I try to eat. I guess it's back to liquids for me and no more bread. I'm assuming the bread irritated my band right?
  21. Dh and I have been married 14 years. We lived next door to his grandma for 14 years. She now lives with my MIL and she suffers from severe memory loss. She asks me every single day what my name is, How many kids we have, if they are boys or girls, if we are married. I mean every single day. I don't mind, I understand the situation and answer all her questions. She can't remember my name, age, my kids or even that I'm married to my DH, she often says she's not sure if we are married or if we just live together she even asks if all the kids are mine and his or if they are split between us, however the one thing she can ALWAYS remember is that I used to be overweight. I see her probably 5 days out 7. Every day she tells me how great I look. How thin I look. How much better I look since I've lost all that weight. How great I look in my clothes and swimsuit. She even tells other people that are at my mother in law's house, Look at this girl- She has lost so much weight, I'm proud of her. She tells her nurses and even her physical therapist. Now, I enjoy the compliments but It suddenly dawned on me last night, how is it that she can't remember anything else about me but the one thing that is stuck in her mind is that I was OVERWEIGHT? Dh and I were sort of laughing about it because I promise you that's the only thing she does remember about me and I have no idea why. She can keep the compliments coming but now my Mother In Law can tell her doctor that her mind is completely muddled there is one odd little thing she never forgets.
