  1. I agree with Rachel. My swelling can get bad for the first two weeks.
  2. I had either 4 or 5 I can't remember. I've had other abdominal surgeries so I have several small scars everywhere on my stomach.
  3. This is so true. Extended release meds cannot be crushed or split they must go down whole.
  4. I can't. My Prozac capsule is the biggest thing I can handle and it's not all that big. I have a bladder infection though and I have to go to the doc. What antibiotics do they use when you can't swallow stuff? liquid? I usually take Cipro but I can't see that going down right now:/
  5. So this is something I need to specifically ask the surgeon about then? I'm starting to make a list of questions. I won't be able to do it until May but I'm getting ready to do consults now to see about the financial aspect and recovery times.
  6. When they do the tummy tuck does it also raise or flatten the skin in your pubic area?
  7. I take Celebrate Multi AGB twice daily and then once daily I take Celebrate Vitamin D and B-12. That's it.
  8. I haven't updated mine, but I will right now:) Thanks!
  9. Untreated hypothyroidism can definitely cause weight gain. I gained 40 pounds in 6 months from mine being out of control. You need to make sure your surgeon sees your lab results. I'm assuming they started you on thyroid meds right? Take them daily. It may take a while but after a few weeks you should start seeing a difference. If your surgeon continues to act like an @ss then you should try and find another one. Your surgeon shouldn't be demeaning you like that.
  10. It could be a virus or just some indigestion. I occasionally get indigestion now from the oddest foods. If it persists call your doctor.
  11. I now have a NORMAL BMI for the first time since I was 18. I'm 31 now:)
  12. Oh I meant to say the comments I received were from banded people that either had to pay cash for their band or are not getting the results I am.
  13. I've encountered a few people who didn't think it was FAIR for me to be banded because I wasn't what they considered overweight. Oh well! My insurance paid for it so obviously I was big enough.
  14. I have now found that a 30 minute jog on my treadmill every day gives me energy to get through my day and helps with my depression:)
  15. First off, I tried the Jillian Michaels Protein powder from Wal- Mart. It tastes really good but my surgeon says the protein powders at Wal- Mart aren't high quality and he says not to use them. What do you think about that? I mean what makes one Protein Powder better than another? Second, I got my Jay Robb protein powder samples. I'm in love. So far I've had the orange dreamsicle and the chocolate. The chocolate could be a bit stronger- it doesn't have enough chocolate flavor to me, but these are otherwise AWESOME! No off smell or taste. They don't tast like a Protein Drink at all. I make mine with calorie countdown milk and they just taste like really good flavored Milk. Once I try the other flavors I'm going to buy a full size bag. Ps if you google jay Robb it will take you to the website. You can buy sample packs there of every flavor. They have vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, orange dreamsice and piña colada.
  16. I hope everything goes well for you this time:)
  17. Just counting calories really. I use My Fitness Pal on my phone and log everything I eat. I stay under 1200 calories daily. I also go through phases of intense workouts. They last 7-10 days and then I wind up slacking off for a week or two.
  18. Wow! Hopefully they will come to an agreement soon. Can you imagine how much money that healthcare system will lose by not being in network? I used to do medical billing, and the scary thing about trying to go out of network is, most of the time patients don't have the money to see you when you are out of network so they find a new doctor instead. The doctor I worked for was out of the Blue Cross/Blue Shield network for a while and he really suffered financially.
  19. I'm not much of a milk drinker but I really like this stuff. What I'm trying to figure out is once you open it is it still good until the printed expiration date on it or is it only good for 7 days after opening? I ask this because I know some dairy products state that they are only good for 7 days once opened. Thanks!
  20. I've never noticed the links in your siggy before today. Today I actually read them and WOW! I wished I would have read those much sooner. Thanks for sharing:) Especially the one to the Dr. Simpson website. Very informative!
  21. I have a picture of mine also but not like that. Mine is a colored picture and clearly shows my internal organs and the Lap Band around them. My surgeon gives 1 to every patient as a keepsake:)
  22. Thanks for posting this! I've been thinking about trying fish oil because I have clinical depression. Now I may order some. I looked at the Coromega but I thinking the consistency of it might not be doable for me. I don't like anything slimy, like pudding or jello.
  23. I agree. Call your surgeon's office right away if you show any signs of it.
  24. Girl I can't reward myself. I'm broke because I've rewarded myself so much lately:) I have more clothes in my closet than I've EVER had, EVER. There's so much cute stuff I can wear now. I can't stop shopping. Then DH took me out Saturday and bought me 5 more shirts- I didn't NEED them but they were cute so he thought I should have them. It takes me forever to get dressed now because I have so much stuff that fits, I just can't decided what to wear.
