  1. HELLO, I have a leak in my band , my dr gave me an option to get the plication(dr calls it Ilap) While he is replacing my band. I will be his 4th patient he has done this on. I get excited and nervous at the same time the only thing im really worried about is "are the stitchings going to hold up" if they dont that will result in death and im young with three kids. Maybe I shouldnt think like that but it is in my head. I appreciate the info above-I have my pre op tomorrow and surgery FrIday the 21st. I would love to keep in touch with everyone to check progress and goals along the way. please message me your email addresses. Good Luck with everyone

    LEAKING BAND?

My band has a leak and in the next couple of days i will go do fluroscopy to see where my band is leaking from the port or from the actual band. Has anyone had this happen to them? And if so how long did it take for you to get back to normal? did you have any side affects from the band leaking? Any information will be helpful.... thank you

  5. I was banded in Dec 2009, I'm just got my first fill last week. I'm bascially starting all over.I'm looking for a buddy to help me and me help them along this journey.:puke:
  6. Did this happen to anyone? I have trouble getting to sleep and staying asleep. Ive tried putting pillows around me and everything..the best sleep I get is in th garden tub,,and thats 2 hrs top....Then another question I have is when I sleep on my back its like I have to catch my breathor something like that it just happens once when I barely roll over....any suggestions as to why I can't sleep or my breathing pattern messes up? P.S. It doesnt help that my tummy rumbles allll night!
  7. Well I totally understand her not wanting to tell anyone( a lot of people think it's the easy way out-and us Bandsters DON'T want to hear that becasue we are working hard for our new healthier lives) I also only told my mom and hubby....and am keeping it very private! It's hard to keep it private because people don't understand why you can't eat this or that and therefor your friends cannot show any support if they don't know about the surgery. As for what you can do...let her rest and encourage her to do so. Also try to eat as clean as you can to show support...most of us are food addicts and it doesn't help if your spouse is inhaling Fast Food or junk food. My husband is on the diet with me...and it helps a lot! And last but not least GOOD LUCK!!! Banded 12-24-09= 270lbs 12-31-09= 255lbs
  8. I guess Im too fat to see the port..unless its under this bandage
  9. Hmmmm I wouldn't go....I think that is a lot of stress on your body. I don't think the liquid diet will be a problem because your mind will be on other things. I also have not told anyone about my surgery only my mom and husband know(I'm a little embarassed) but I'm sure you can just say you pulled a muscle and he should know to take it a lil easy!
  10. I've managed to get down a few ounces over the last 4 days but nothing more. Food(or should i say protein shakes and broth) isnt appealing and the smell of any food makes me want to get sick. When I breathe in every once in awhile I'm sore-is that normal?? So I've been in bed and on my pain meds for 4 days..I just want to cry!
