  1. Everyone says that this is band is not magic and that you will need to do the work, but if we could of done the work then we would not have needed to get the band. I see so many people don't lose any weight. If we stuffed our face before why would we not stuff our face now. I really don't understand. If you don't have restriction then you can eat all you want and not lose weight or even gain weight, and if you have restriction then you feel sick all the time. If you get to much restriction then you can't even drink Water, I would really appreciate if someone who has lost some weight would let me know how things have gone for them. Sorry I sould a little fustrated, I just hope I didn't spend a bunch of money for nothing.

I am in the SAME boat as you. I have like NO restriction at all!

  2. I had my surgery 1 day before you and what you are experiencing is 100% normal. I am hungry all of the time. However, I do get the "full" feeling which really is basically upper stomach and chest pain. Next time you eat pay very close attention to the signs your body is giving you. Doctors don't like to fill the port before 6 weeks post op because that is the period of time that our new stomache pouch requires to heal so the swelling goes down. I have been eating solid foods since day 8 and now I know what overeating, eating too fast, and not chewing enough feels like. Hope this helps even a little. Until week 6 comes around you are going to be hungry. As the other user posted---drink drink drink. Don't chug though! Sip! And do not use straws and stick with foods that are high in Protein such as lean hamburger meat, skinless chicken breast, and tuna. Good Luck! Happy New Year!

  3. I as well as all of you others struggled with staying asleep for the first few days. I was awake every 45 minutes or so. I did notice that sleeping in a recliner and drinking warm chamomile tea helped me sleep for longer periods of time. By the 3rd night I was so exhausted from moving around to get showered and from point A to B that I slept like a baby in bed. By the 6th day or so I was able to sleep on my side (opposite of wear the port is). Now I am 3 weeks post-op and can sleep in any position. Even on my tummy with little to no port pain. Hang in there for this too shall pass. May the new year bring you happiness, fortune, and a new you! ;)
