Any January 2010 Bandsters????
Okay...I need to know...has anyone else become a virtual burping machine?? From the time I crawl out of bed to the time I crawl back in, it's just a constant gas release. I guess I should be glad it's just burping, right? But it's become uncomfortable. I don't want to eat or drink b/c whatever I swallow has to encounter this perpetual gas bubble and it's painful. And no, GasX doesn't help. And yes, I talked to the doctor and he said let's just monitor it and if it becomes acid reflux, we can talk about meds to treat that. It doesn't hurt too terribly bad, it's just uncomfortable. Please tell me I'm not the only one.

Any January 2010 Bandsters????
UGH!! I bought a new scale this weekend. The other one I had was a cheapo and would give me 4 different readings every time I would step on it. The new one is one from The Biggest Loser and also does body fat calculations and other fancy stuff. AND it weighs me about 4-6 pounds MORE than my old one. UGH! I'm taking my ticker down and just going to start over.

Happy, but frustrated
I hear ya!! You just never know! I was once told that 8-10 pounds was one dress size. I call BS on that one! I've lost 16 pounds and still find just one size smaller is still a bit too snug. Not quite sure there's a specific formula to this. Wish there was, though!!

Any January 2010 Bandsters????
I've actually kinda enjoyed the pureed stage. I do eat alot of tuna and crab salads, but it's been okay, especially coming straight off a month long liquid diet. When I saw the doc last week, he told me to be prepared for a couple of pounds to come back on once food is added in. And from everything I've read here, the first month to 6 weeks will be slow losing. Just something we have to deal with and just stick to it!

Any January 2010 Bandsters????
LOL about Isopure. I got some to try, but haven't gotten the courage to do so yet after hearing some of the reviews. The majority have said to cut it in half with water and add some Crystal Lite for some added flavor. I have tried Cytomax Cytosport Cytomax Protein RTD Watermelon (20 Oz X 12 Bottles) Not too bad once I split the bottle in half with water. Somewhat like a jollyrancher with a bit of an after taste. It makes for a nice alternative to the milky shakes.

Do you FEEL fat????????
When I was thinner, I felt fat. Then I would see pics of myself and think, "Wow...I look gooood!" Now I'm "obese" and look in the mirror and see one hot looking chick...next day as I browse through the pics on the camera I'm left stunned and shocked by the rolly polly blonde staring back at me. I don't think my "mental" will ever catch up with my "reality."

Pet Peeves
HAHAHA!! This week's peeve is adults that think they have to explain themselves to their young children as if they were equal. I started to do this the other day with my oldest son. "I checked your text messages while you were gone...because your phone was going off and it was getting on my nerves and I thought it might be someone...okay, really, I checked your text messages b/c I pay the bill and I bought the phone and I don't need an excuse to check it b/c I'm your mother and I can do whatever I want in this house b/c I pay all the bills and LET YOU LIVE HERE." Whew...

Is it ok to have a glass of wine
My nutritionist said it was fine every once in a while as long as it didn't exceed 4 oz and I had met my protein requirement for the day. Don't waste calories on alcohol if you still need to get in all your required nutrients. And she said that if I ever stall in my weight loss, alcohol will be the first thing she cuts from my diet.

Any January 2010 Bandsters????
So what are ya'll finding the hardest lifestyle adjustment is so far? My most difficult change in habit is the no eating and drinking together. VERY difficult habit to break for me. I'm so accustomed to taking a long drink of something after I'm done eating. It's really driving me bonkers. LOL!

Any January 2010 Bandsters????
I was going to use the elliptical too as that's what I have at the house. Doc said no, no, no. Oops.... As for work, I had surgery on a Tuesday, did some work from home on Friday and went back full time on Monday. I was moving slow, but didn't feel there was a reason I couldn't go back. I have an office job and sit behind a desk a majority of the time, so it wasn't too difficult.

Any January 2010 Bandsters????
Just had my first post op visit with the doctor. I'll be able to get my first fill the week of 2/15. They like to wait as close to the 6 week mark as possible. :smile2: I said I was super hungry, so he'll allow it at 5 weeks. That'll be okay...I can do it! I did get kinda chastised for using my elliptical yesterday...I only did like 10 minutes. He said only stationary bike (which I don't have) or walking for about 10-15 minutes. OOPS! Got to start pureed today. YUMMMMY tuna salad! LOL!

Any January 2010 Bandsters????
I start mushies today!! YAY!!! I've never been so excited about egg salad before. LOL! I also have my first preop with my doc today and hope to find out how soon I can have a fill. They told me when I was ready, I'M READY!!! But I'm sure he'll put me off til at least week 6. We'll see!

Any January 2010 Bandsters????
I'm hungry right now! :scared2: I'm on full liquids until 2 weeks post op (which will be Tuesday). So I get yogurt w/o fruit, protein shakes, 98% fat free cream of chicken soup (only 1 cup/day). The hunger gets pretty bad at times. But once I sip on my shake, it dissipates quickly. I just can't wait to CHEW food!

Any January 2010 Bandsters????
I found a 6 pack variety pack of Isopure last night at GNC. I've been wanting to try it b/c I'm looking for a non-milk protein shake for some variety. I'm finding most people cut their's with water and some add Crystal Lite for some added flavor. I absolutely can NOT do the unflavored protein added to food. I'm sorry, but that stuff is NOT unflavored to me. I can smell it, I can taste it, and it's NOT pretty. BLECH! CherieLynne -- I have heard people say to be prepared to gain a few pounds back once you start real food. I'm still on liquids til Tuesday so we'll see what happens at the end of next week. I'm so ready for some FOOD! loL!

Day 1 of pre-op diet
I start on Wednesday. I find it interesting all the different pre-op diet instructions we're all given. Mine's 14 days and only 3 shakes, but all liquid all day. Can only have 1 cup of tomato soup and 1 cup of oatmeal with my shakes. Oh and all the sugar free clear liquids I want (jello, Crystal Light, popsicles). I'm hoping that will make it somewhat easier. We'll see! All I know is that I have to do it to get to my real goal. On surgery day, if I haven't lost weight, they will postpone surgery. They're serious about this and I know I have to be too!

Any January 2010 Bandsters????
WOOHOO!! Got my surgery scheduled yesterday for January 12. Start my pre-op diet on 12/30. Can't freaking wait! 1.) What is your current and goal weight? 247/155 2.) What is your surgery date? January 12, 2010 (3.) What is your age? 31 4.) Where do you live? Southeast Texas 5.) Where are you having surgery? Beaumont (SETX Bariatric Center) 6.) Who is your doctor? Dr. Kevin Dean 7.) Insurance or self-pay? Self Pay -- apparently my insurance wants me to be morbidly obese and sick for 5 years. 8.) What was your deciding factor? As a single mom I just knew it was time to do something for ME. Can't wait to chase the kids without needing to rest, playing a game of one on one b-ball with my oldest and lasting more than 3 minutes, and so so so much more!
