  1. The stories about alamanza really did scare me away from considering MX. Glad I was able to talk to people who had seen other Drs and that I decided to go through with the surgery. But honestly if an American doc had that type of reputation I really doubt all these people would be saying it was the patients fault and would instead be screaming "off with his head"

I really hate how one bad apple spoils the bunch. The stories about Almanza are the reason the stereotypes against Mexican surgeons get perpetuated. There are so many fantastic surgeons in Mexico and they get a bad rap, just because of this ONE guy. Very frustrating.

I've spent months researching doctors in Tijuana, MX.

I decided on dr. Ponce de leon and will be setting my date most likely this week.

    Almanza wasn't even a consideration.

Yes I do - send me your email and I will send them to you this weekend

  3. I'm going to re-word this topic to describe me...........I don't "throw up" but I still get food stuck and "slime" at least once a week.

I am (20) months post-op, below my goal weight but it still happens and most of the time it's my own fault. I'm either in a rush and eat too fast or eat foods that I know I shouldn't even attempt. Personally I can't eat beef of any type, not even ground beef. NO type of bread works, but crackers do. And don't even try a tortilla - the dough just makes a BIG blob and must come back up.

If I stick to the right foods that I know work and then - CHEW CHEW CHEW - I do much better

  4. Have you heard of Liposculpture? I had read some stuff online about it and wondered if it was a cheaper/less painful way of getting rid of the flapping wings....? Just curious....my arms are the bane of my existance and I would LOVE to be able to afford to get rid of them! :(

( Here's the website where I was reading about it -- http://www.pacificlipo.com/liposuction-faqs.htm - I had actually read a post of someone who had it done at this place...and then went to the website to check it out)

I had liposculpture done at PacificLipo in San Diego. My arms look amazing now. I plan on having my thighs done in November.

  5. I enjoy high-end quality food as well. I'm a year and a half post-op and still can't tolerate any type of beef. I tried (1) very small bite of hubbys steak recently and ended up in the restroom withing minutes. Many people have problems with rice and Pasta but I do fine. bread - forget it - and to be truthful I don't even miss it.

I have become a big fish now. I haven't had a problem with any. Fresh fish and shellfish = yummy!

I do have a shake every day for Breakfast. It has just become a part of my life and I enjoy them. My band tends to be tighter in the morning so shakes work well.
