This is the beginning.  I was so excited at first, but now I am about 2 weeks away and am afraid.  My fear is death, of course, but I know without this surgery I will continue to gain weight and that will become the outcome anyway.  I was always thin until my mid twenties.  After that I gained at least 10 lbs a year.  This past year I have gained 30 pounds.  This is the beginning of my new chapter.
