  1. I am a teacher originally from Birmingham, AL & now live outside of Memphis, TN ROLL TIDE!
  2. I got a small fill when he repaired the port. They don't want to give too much because of swelling but 2 week later I got a good fill. It won't be much longer-
  3. I had a flipped port. One side of the stitches came out. They ended up putting mesh in to hold it. It was no big deal & I was back to normal the next day. I doubt Zumba had anything to do with it. It really has to do with the fatty tissue that the dr attaches the port to. Good luck on Monday!!
  4. I've been banded 8 months & I am at my sweet spot. I eat popcorn weekly with no problem. Just eat smart, no big handfuls, a few kernals at a time. It's the best snack!
  5. What was the date of your surgery? December 30, 2009 How healthy did you/do you eat? somewhat healthy How much do you exercise? Walk 3 miles 3 times a week, stationary bike 45 minutes every night How much have you lost? 70 lbs. Are you happy with your results? Yes!!
  6. CONGRATS! i JUST ENTERED ONEDERLAND MYSELF! I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO EXCITED TO BE 197!!!!
  7. I am in for 12 pounds- July 4th Weight- 197 Labor Day Weight- 185
  8. Monday morning I stepped on the scale & it said 199.5. I'll admit- I cried! More than changing sizes this was a huge moment for me. I have been in the 200's almost half of my life & all of my adult years. I never thought I would make it but I have & I'm 20 lbs. (well 19.5) away from my first goal. Keep working hard & join me in onederland- it is amazing!!!
  9. I tanned about 6 weeks post op & had no trouble at all. I would ask you doctor. My doctor said to wait until my incisions had healed or completely scabbed over. Honestly scarring wasn't an issue for me because after 2 c-sections, gallbladder surgey, & now LapBand surgery, I have plenty of scars (hopefully a little plastic surgery is in my future) Let your incisions heal then tan in moderation-
  10. I am sorry you are in such pain. When I went in for my 4 week post op, my surgeon found that my port had flipped. I was scheduled for the next week & went back into outpatient and he fixed it. I haven't had any problems since & I never really had any pain. My port was attached on one side but not on the other. It sounds like yours may be completely unattached. Hopefully you will feel better soon!
  11. I really eat normal foods (just not as much as I used to). For me routine is key in eating & exercise. For Breakfast I usually have a Protein shake. At lunch I have about 2-3 oz of ham, a cheese stick & sugar free Jello. Then at supper, I eat whatever (in small quantites) Both of my kids play ball so for the last month it has been ballpark food or food on the go. I just try to make better choices than I used to. Exercise is the same everyday. I ride a stationary bike for 1 hour from 9-10 every night. 3 times a week I also walk 3 miles. I feel so much better! I can run & play with my kids which makes a big difference & makes all of this worth it!
  12. I am 9 days from being 6 months post op & I have entered onederland!!! I started out at 264 lbs. wearing a tight size 22 & 6 months later I am 65 pounds lighter & wearing a loose 14. I am 19lbs. away from my first goal. This is the best decision I have ever made for myself. I feel better & have more energy than I know what to do with.
  13. I had 2 c-sections & you are right, the pain is similar. But it doesn't last as long. I think 1 cup of broth at lunch & dinner is perfect. Hang in there- I am almost 6 months post-op & just know it gets better! Good luck!
