I saw a comment you made on someones blog. You have lost 90 pounds in 9 months? Congratulations and keep up the hard work.

I am doing great. I go in for my second fill in about and hour. I am so excited about the weightloss. 34 pounds since nov. and 22 since my surgery. I only lost 7 in the past 3 weeks but still it is 7 pounds gone forever. I hope at my weigh in today the scale reads the same loss. I am sure you know how that goes. How are you doing?

Hi Summer, I am doing good. I was banded 1/4/10 and took my first post op ride about 9 days out. It was about an hour there and then back again. The only problem was my port is right above my belly button. It was rubbing a little on my pants button. So I just hiked my pants up a bit before I hopped on and haven't had any trouble since. We have plans to go ride the Dragon's tail in July. I can hardly wait. I know my pics on the dragon this year will be so much better. I won't look like a fat blob. Maybe I can even get some sexy biker gear. Glad to meet another biker chick.

Hey, I am just responding to your question on my BLOG. I am down eight pounds since surgery and my doc expects another 4 by my first fill.Which is 2.5 weeks away. i have been at a stand still this week. I feel the swelling has gone down and with out restriction. I am hungry all the time. How are you doing?

Hey Jaxmom, glad to hear you are doing so well. I am 12 days post op and down 8 pounds. I gained about 5 after surgery so I lost that and then some.

My post op diet was clear liquids for 2 days, full liquids for another 5 days, Soft foods for 7 then, I am back onto my regular diet. All of these stages are low carb though. Right now I am on soft foods. I can have almost anything except raw vegtables and really tough meats like steaks and stuff. I am starting to feel like I have no resitriction also. My first two soft meals I got stuck but now I can eat without any problems. I am hungry all the time though. My Doc told me this would happen and that I would need to be really strict on myself. Once the swelling goes down you won't have any restriction until your first or second fill. My first fill will be Feb 9th.

9 pounds lost is great. Alot of people gain during the first few weeks after surgery. Really your doing great because the band is not yet doing it's job.

I had them from the moment I woke up from the surgery and am still having them 5 days post op. The Gas-x does help temporarily. I called the doc's office and I asked why I was having them so bad and they told me that they had to use more gas on me than usual. So my experience with it is a little extreme. Strange thing is other than a little burbing, I haven't really been passing gas. Let me know how your doing too,ok?

Hey, The surgery wsa pretty much what I expected. I am just in more pain than I expected. Most people I talk to on here say they never took their pain meds. I tried skipping them this morning and regreted it later. My Diet is real strict too. Not only am I on liquids but they have to be low carb too. I don't want to complain so I am just doind the best I can. Tomorrow I can have protein shakes which should help fill me up. Plus it is only 2 weeks then I will be back to my normal low carb diet. One thing that did surprise me is I gained 2 pounds. I don't know if it is from the IV fluids or salt. I really should be losing. I will keep better track of my food intake and see what happens. I am doing really well. I am a little sore but the pain meds help. They make me sleepy though. I may skip them tomorrow. I hope to get out of the house a little tomorrow. How are you doing?

Hi thanks for the message you sent. I saw you ar a nurse. I am currently going to school to be a nurse. I have a 5 year old boy. We are both being banded on Monday. Let me know how it goes for you.

Hi Jaxmom, It is exciting to meet someone from around here. I am having surgery at memorial. I am excited but scared too. I am doing well. I have an appt tommorrow with my surgeon to go over lapwork and stuff. I also have 2 final exams tommorrow (college). I am so nervous about them. I had a hard time studying today. I think I didn't get enough calories the past few days. If you have surgery out of the country do you know who will do your fills?

I am also BP and on medicare. I weigh 260 so my Doc is confident of their approval. Good luck.

Hi,In response to your comment on my blog about insurance, I have medicaid wich is just paying a little bit. So I am almost self pay. I tried care credit too. They told me I didn't have any credit history. Mainly because we don't use credit cards and pay cash for most things. So I am trying to save up for it. I hope to have surgery Jan 4 but I may have to postpone it a couple weeks. Thanks for reading my blog.
