    thx i feel it too
  2. well i have been today and seen my fill nurse, my band hasnt popped or slipped opr anthing bad, she did manage to put .4ml(cc) into my band she did try .5 but i think the fact i nearly puked on her made her draw some back lol. so she also weighed me and i have lost 5 stone from my heaviest weight which is 70lbs and from when i had my op done i have lost 42lb since the 27th nov 09. so i am really happy about that, i have dropped form a size 28-30 to just not quite comfy in a 20 now they fasten but i cant sit down yet lol. never in a million years would i ever have thought i would loose 5 stone.
  3. i had my surg on 27th nov09, i started out at 308lb the first two weeks out and full of pain and gas i was like what have i done, but one morning i woke up with out any pain and i couldnt understand one day pain day after no pain. when i finally moved onto solids 6 weeks after surgery i realised that the amount i could actually eat was way, way less than i would have eaten before. i am now for the first time in my entire life 65lb lighter, i have never lost that much weight ever. i love my band, although at the minute my restriction has gone again which i am told is because i have lost fat from round my stomache so my band has loosened and need a fill i have never after the first initial weeks ever thought why did i do it. i would do it again in a heartbeat and have infact talked two friends into doing the very same thing, and they now love their bands too.

    Is something wrong here?

hi i had my surgery on the 27th nov 09 and have had 3 fills so far, at my first fill yes i could eat anything, my first fill was 5ml/cc. i didnt feel any restriction untill i had my second fill of 1ml/cc which i had to have .15ml taken back out because fluids didnt go down, i went away with a really good restriction, for all of 2 weeks and my portions sizes jumped back up again. i now have my 3 rd fill of 1ml/cc which i went away and was in band hell for 16 days and lost 11lbs and felt ill for it, i had to go back in to have .5ml taken back out again. i know people who have had 7 fills and still not got to their sweet spot everyone is very different honey, but one thing i will say is you deffinatley need to keep to the letter of your diet plan, getting slippage because you thought you would see how far you could push it is not nice, constant throwing up and burping and some have alot of pain with it, which deffinately means you got to go back for surgery to have that removed and replaced or a whole new one fitted. you may have money to burn but think of the impact on your body, im not having a go im just concerned that your mind is not in the same place as your band right now, and if you want to succseed you need to get your head out normal mode and safely into band mode hun. if your diet plan says mushy then do mushy, if your diet plan says salad do salad but dont try and jump the gun you will deeply regret it. these diet plans are their for a reason and if you dont adhere to it your pushing your stoma too far and you will pay for the i "i wonder" eat regularly should be every 4 to 6 hours to be right, and dr5ink plenty of fluids as well, dehydration is not fun i know i went there, but please do yourself a favour and listen to your dietition and the sheets you been given.

  15. Hi the only thing that helped me when i had that gas pain was moving around and walking about nothing too strenuous mind, as for the calf pain and cramps if your having some cerial or oatmeal in the mornings for Breakfast put some bananna on it as well for a couple of days, you really should be taking some good quality vitimins as well and some Calcium chews, i take them everyday and no longer get the cramps, plus they boost you up a bit while you are on a very low calorie intake. im sure your doctor will have told you this at surgery. the gas will pass, youll wake up one morning and realise it has gone, i did but keep taking the pain meds as prescibed dont wait for the pain to come on, and keep taking your gas meds your on they will help trust me. good luck in your journey.

  18. people i think to be quite blunt this all need calming down, people are getting their backs up and putting others backs up in the process. ok so the original post was written with little after thought and to be quite sure that we can all be guilty of posts that we did think about the after consequenses. but obviously the person is in a very difficult situation, we all get them form time to time i know i do, you would not be human if once in your life you jumped into a situation that you thought was going to give you the well needed light at the end of the tunnel, she isnt the first and will deffinately not be the last believe me. but i think this thread has died a sorry death and needs to be left as it is. having a slanging match with everyone is not what this site is all about yes air your views, yes ask and give advice as far as your own personal knowledge will allow but come on to have an out right argument is not only futile but is demoralising for the person who started the thread in the first place. so can we all agree to let sleeping dogs lie and move on.
