  1. I was banded by him on August 8th and just had my first fill in NY on Monday. The doctor I saw spoke very highly of Dr. Rumbaut and based on the xrays & flouro said the band was perfectly placed. You made the right choice!
  2. The only one I can stomach is Hank's Finest Protein. It's expensive but worth it IMHO. I mix it with Water and it tastes like Nestle Quik to me. If you go to this link you can get two free samples - http://www.healthfitnesschannel.com/FreeProteinSample.htm. Just be ready to be bombarded with emails from him. On the bottom of his email's you can opt-out of the spam.
  3. Thanks for bumping this post! I have my first fill on Monday.
  4. Pebbles, do you think you could be pregnant? Either way, please call you GYN in the morning.
  5. I miss my loud & oboxious hiccups! Anybody around me just couldn't help but laugh at my hiccups - especially my son. But since I've been banded I have these little wimpy ones now. The band stole my hiccups!
  6. For those of you with 5 cc bands how much did you get at your first fill? I'm getting a fill on Monday so I'm really just wondering how much to expect.
  7. Be very very careful! I had a soft serve cone on the boardwalk in Atlantic City when I was in the mushies phase and boy oh boy my body did not like that. I had cramps and uh....well....no pb'ing....but it did come out...if you get my drift.
  8. Nice poll princess_n_thep and I love your picture. Blessed be! Justy

For those of you that enjoy yoga, how long was it before you started doing it again? I'm only a month out from surgery and I want to give myself time to properly heal. I will check with my doctor but I wanted to hear when you tried it and if there are any positions that were uncomfortable.
  10. In addition to a basic cookbook I highly recommend getting a crockpot! They're simple and they make the meat tender and easier for us bandsters to tolerate. I would also recommend the following cookbooks for the crockpot: 5-Ingredient Slow Cooker Recipes (Better Homes & Gardens (Paperback)) Slow Cooker Favorites Made Healthy (Better Homes & Gardens (Paperback)) Fix-It & Forget-It Lightly: Healthy Low-Fat Recipes Good luck!
  11. Look into Dr. Rumbaut in Monterray who is also a banster! - http://www.gastricband.com/ He did my band on August 8th and I would highly recommend him. But with that said this is a very personal choice so please look around and ask others. I filled out the form on the website and started talking with Cathy and if you ask her she will give you about 20 contacts to previous patients of his. I emailed each one and they were more than willing to share their experiences for me. Good luck in your decision!
  12. Thank you for sharing that post! I have my first fill next Monday and I can't wait!
  13. I just scheduled my first fill for next Monday - the 18th! I can't wait. Sorry but I had to share.
  14. *praying for Cindyn* I hope things went well and that you're not too uncomfortable!
  15. Hi Tracicat! My only pointer will be to take things one day at a time. I had my surgery a month ago and my main focus has been to follow the rules to allow time for my stomach to heal. The fact that I've lost 22 lbs is just a bonus! I still step on the scale daily but that's because I just can't believe how quickly it's dropping. I keep waiting for it to bounce back up like it was all a dream. Take the first few months easy and don't get impatient. The weight will come off. Good luck!
  16. I called this morning and I have my first fill on the 18th with esophagram! The Long Island Bariatric Center will accept patients from Mexico. Their website is www.doryferraro.com.
  17. Man I have been dying for a taco! When I eat Mexican I can't eat just one thou so if I can give up Pepsi I can go without the taco.
  18. My nut approved a liquid Vitamin I found. I can't really stand the taste of it alone so when I make a Protein drink I put it in it. The Flintstones taste good and they're a heck of a lot cheaper than the liquid version.
  19. Thanks for sharing!!!
  20. I think I'm going to make the journey to Long Island, NY. My doctor highly recommended them. Better than the journey back to Mexico.
  21. I showered before I left the hospital the morning after my surgery. I just let the Water run over the bandages and let them air dry. But, like others have said, check with your doc!
  22. I visited Amman back in the 80s and loved it. Took a dip in the Dead Sea too. You're fortunate to live there. Enjoy every moment while you can!
  23. Please post if they accept you because I'm still looking for a fill doctor. I'm a couple hours away but I'm very familiar with that hospital and would make the drive. Thanks!
