  1. Thank you for those suggestions and I actually tried to take it easy yesterday. The gall bladder thing did come to mind, as well! Intermittent pain woke me often last night while trying to sleep. I am going to be calling my doctor this morning as soon as the office opens.
  2. I'm 2 1/2 months post op gastric sleeve now and haven't had any issues until yesterday. Every time I eat or drink I am having pain in my stomach and under my sternum that radiates to the center of my upper back. I haven't done any exercise out of the ordinary. I don't feel like I over ate or anything like that. The one thing I did differently is that I switched to a regular multivitamin PILLS about 4 days ago (instead of the chewable ones. At my last appointment a few weeks ago, my nutritionist had said I could start taking the pills after I finished up the chewables I have left. Has anyone else had this problem?

  4. I had that problem the first 2-3 weeks, improved as diet advanced. I was sleeved on March 10, so now about 2 1/2 months post-op.

    When does it become fun?

I find it very helpful to have something to watch or listen to as well. The fitness center I belong to just opened up a brand new location that is very convenient for me- it is located between my work and my home, and each cardio machine has it own tv with somewhere around 70-80 different channels. I can usually find something that will interest me for 34-45 minutes and it helps the time go by faster. It is also nice when the machines count the calories burned as well, I find myself going a little bit longer just to burn another 25 calories! It is also important to get some weights in 2-3 times a week. A pound of muscle helps you burn more calories than a pound of fat does!

    When does it become fun?

I have been working out at a fitness center since this past December. I try to work out 3-4 times a week and I can honestly say that I look forward to going now. I actually get frustrated when I can't make it! My favorite machine is the eliptical. I was banded on 8/24/06 and did well at first, lost about 40 lbs by December, but then I plataued. It actually has only been in the last couple weeks that I have started to lose again. I feel so much better now, though. I'm no where near as tired as I had been before. I have the energy now to keep up with my two little guys (one is going to be 5 this month and my other is 2 1/2)! Good luck to you, keep at it! You will be happy you did, especially when you are starting to notice the differene in you body as well as your energy!

Advice on size of 2nd fill

Hi, everyone. I have a 10cc band and had my first fill on 10/3/06. Supposibly it was 3.4cc fill, but I'm really not that sure I got that much of a fill because I felt a few drops of saline hit my foot when my physician was filling the band. I told him and he agreed that there was indeed some leaking between the syringe and the tubing. I did not feel much restriction after that fill, therefore I just had my 2nd fill yesterday, he added another 2cc (I didn't feel any leaking this time!) for a total now of 5.4cc. I have to say I now feel a good amount of restriction, maybe a little too much. I'll have to see in few more days after the swelling goes down, but right now even the full liquids feel a little tight. Good luck to you all! Teri
  11. Hey guys! I don't want to sound like an idiot, but what does "PB" and "PD" stand for? I'm fairly new still here in lapband land and was just wondering. Thanks! Teri

Hi Heather! Thanks for the welcome! Sorry it has taken so long to reply, work and kids have been keeping me busy. So, what takes you to Portugal? Worldwide traveler?! How long before you return to Florida? I love Orlando, mostly Disney I suppose. Having grown up her in Florida, we went to Disney alot when I was a kid. Now that I have 2 young boys of my own its fun watching them love it just as much! Well, I wish you a safe return! Talk to you again soon. Teri

Melody, Congratulations!! You should be so proud of yourself! The goal for myself is to have lost 50 lbs total by my birthday in February. I think its reasonable, its only 28 lbs in 5 months. I should even be able to exeed that goal if I really apply myself and do all the things that I need to. Well, good luck to you and stay strong! God bless, Teri
