I am in the same boat. I don't even try to drink my protein shakes because I'm scared it will just come back up. Everything comes back up. I'm not regretting the lap band or anything, I'm just concerned about being so weak and unable to keep even the simple fluids down. -

I was banded on 9/28. I still can't keep anything down and the foul taste I have in my mouth is just horrible. I sucked on a lemon without swallowing any pulp and that actually helped a little. I plan to go back to work tomorrow, but I just feel so weak since I haven't been able to keep anything down. -
Surgery went well. I didn't expect so much pain, but it's bearable. What's not bearable is the fact that while I was in surgery, my brother in law passed away. He was only 39 and in seemingly good health. He was my sisters everything and now our family is just so devastated. Rest in peace, Jason Cobb.

Today is my surgery. It's not until 2:00 PM, but I've been under the no food or drink since midnight last night. I'm not nervous, I just want it to be over as quickly as possible. I've been up since 7:00 cleaning carpets and doing laundry just to take my mind off of it, hoping the time will pass without much notice. -
Y'all, I've got about 5 hours before I have to go to the hospital. Nothing to eat or drink today. I'm going to go crazy! I was already up at 7:00 AM and cleaning my carpets just to keep my mind off of everything. Thank you for the well wishes!

Tomorrow is the day! I have to be at the hospital at 2:00 PM. I really can't wait for this.

No co-pay for the surgery and $15 co-pay for office visits. -
I am fat because I love to cook and I love to eat what I cook. I'm sure those years of binge drinking didn't help either.

One more day! I have a quick question though. My surgery is not scheduled until 3:30 PM. Does the don't drink or eat after midnight rule still apply or does it move up to around 8:00 AM? I don't know if I can go all day long with ANYTHING to drink. -
My support group meetings are in Riverdale at Southern Regional, but that's probably as bad as going into Atlanta. In fact, my bf doesn't let me go alone just because of the area. Y'all, I've only got two more days! This weekend was pure torture too. We had a party for my son's birthday Friday night and I've had to look at left over cake and ice cream all weekend. I think I did well though. I fixed myself a slice of cake after we sang Happy Birthday, but ended up only eating about 3 small bites before pushing it away.

My whole thing with getting band is that I'm going to be held accountable for the amount and quality of food I eat and that's how I've explained it to my family. Without the band, I can eat whatever I want and the only repercussions are gaining more weight and declining health. With the band, there HAS to be a stopping point or I'll really pay for it. Immediately. It seemed to put things in a better perspective for them and now everyone is supportive of what I'm doing whether they agree with my choice or not.

My doctor's office only charges $150 fee. I would definitely find another one. -
I don't have a recipe, but if you want something quick and just plain awesome, you should try Jello Mousse Temptations. They are only 60 calories and come in 4 flavors. Products - JELL-O Gelatin, pudding, and No-Bake Desserts

Lol, I just noticed you answered my other post on this page and here I was looking for days on mine!
I didn't just go to one nutrition class. I went to one a month a few days after I saw my PCP for my 6 month diet. It was a pain, but I think it helped to prepare me better. I didn't have to pay any extra money, but that was because I began my lapband process last September and they didn't start charging until January this year.
I have three children. Jennifer is 23, Tyler is 18 and my baby, Evan, is 13. I work a lot, but then when I'm not working, I'm almost always home with the kids.
Congratulations on the new great grandbaby!

I'm on the same diet and I was starving too. I ended up having to email my doctor's office for some kind of alternative and was told that I can have half a turkey sandwich on whole grain bread with tomato and lettuce, but no mayo. I'm also allowed sugar free juice pops, sugar free jello any time and half a cup of cottage cheese once a day. Hope this helps and good luck! -

I remember you saying you were in Stockbridge too. Which schools do your boys attend? Mine go to Woodland Middle and Woodland High. Today is my oldest sons 18th birthday. Happy Birthday to Tyler! Oh and I am pretty sure I read yesterday that someone else is using your same doctor. I hope she'll show up here and post with us!

You have to buy it either on Amazon or the unjury website: www.unjury.com Even though I think most Protein shakes have a funky taste to them, I like the fact that one of the flavors from Unjury is chicken noodle Soup. It really helps you make it through the hard days of the liquid diet when you get sick to death of all those sweet shakes. -
Hey! I have friends from Barnesville and my bf used to ride bulls down there. My boys and I spent many weekends down there over the years.
I started a thread for all of the current GA banders, so hopefully we can all use each other for support.

Out of all the ones I've tried during my 2 week liquid diet, Carnation Instant Breakfast(no sugar added) is the best tasting. It doesn't have as much protein, so I have to balance it out with Unjury.
