I was always a heavy girl, but very athletic.  Was in varsity track and field in HS and then in my Freshman year in college.  After all of my schooling, my activity level went from 10 to 0.  As I got older, the weight just seemed to creep up.  One day I woke up at 333 lbs!I went to a free seminar about the lapband after getting a mailer from Valley Hospital, advertising that they were bringing in an Obesity Dept. from Columbia University in NYC.  So my mom accompanied me to the meeting and I left feeling like it was the right thing for me.My surgery went off without any complications.  I lost weight really fast the first year...but i have hit a plateau.  I am down about 65 lbs and holding steady.  I want to loose 65 more lbs, but it has NOT been easy.I still vomit sometimes.  I lately have been having issues with things getting "stuck" and having to get loosened quickly due to not being able to drink/eat anything for 24-48 hours.I have thought about having it removed and MAYBE consider RNY down the road...Im kind of at a loss.I am NOT ready to throw in the lapband towel just yet though.  I am a positive person and know that with the right adjustment and some much needed motivation (and of course excersize!) I will be OK.
