  1. Shoulder pain is from gas. It will go away but need to walk it out, too! Good luck, try gas-x tabs. Karen
  2. Normal! The shoulder pain usually doesn't come until about a week or more. Just keep walking out the gas, and maybe take gas-x to get rid of it. Mine was bad enough that I actually took my pain meds around that time. Best wishes,Karen
  3. did not sleep on my stomach the 1st month. I propped the pillow to keep from rolling to my stomach. I slept in my bed without being propped up, laying flat. As I said, I just kept from rolling to my stomach. It is hard for a stomach sleeper the 1st few days! Karen
  4. Congrats, was never so happy as to get off my meds!
  5. No heavy lifting for 6 weeks. You might need to take a short term medical leave if they can't give light duty. Best wishes for your journey! Karen
  6. Calm down, jenniferinjodan. You are still healing. You just had major surgery. rink your liquids, walk and rest. Best wishes for a smooth and speedy recovery. Karen
  7. I love my port! It reminds me that I did something for myself! Mine sticks out, and I feel it when I lay down. When I get in the swimming pool it sticks out a lot. It reminds me, I guess what I am saying, it doesn't go away, it might get more pronounced, you will have to hide it with the clothes you wear. Good luck! Karen
  8. I agree with newdawn! Start over and talk to a nutritionist. Best wishes, Karen
  9. Wow! My you are a super mom. Glad that you are doing better, and I agree, the new girl should eb a "friend" to your new daughter. Gd has blessed you with a giving heart! Happy Easter, He has risen! Karen
  10. I like having a flouro fill, otherwise my surgeon is unable to tell if the water, or barium is going down. he gave me .25 cc and I was too tight, water took like a minute to go down. The barium only passed when he removed the .25 that he had added. The other way to tell, is he has had people walk around in his office and outside until they had water pass. NOT FOR ME!!! I don't want to be that tight!!Best wishes, Karen
  11. Congrats on both the NSV and the scale victory!Karen
  12. Congrats on your weightloss, glad you are feeling better. Stomach viruses are one of the worst things that can happen to a lapbander. I am glad that you go through the ordeal. Losing/gaining are not significant while you are heaving!!!Glad you are back to the living! Karen
  13. I wish you good luck! Hopefully you are not too tight, but have restriction! karen
  14. I can see a grat difference. Congrats, keep on going!
  15. After being banded for almost 3 years, I, also, use a straw when using a straw seems to be the right thing. I follow most of my surgeon's rules, but he is happy with me, so if I use a straw he would probably be fine. (By the way, his office staff use straw, when needed too)!!!
  16. wow! you are busy. Good for you that you are seeing a doctor for your medical problem. i did not lose much before my 1st fill, either. Some folks do, some don't. Never be embarrassed, because people who are, sometimes, don't go for their check ups! Go and get your fill and best wishes to you! Karen
  17. How exciting for you! Your journey is about to start! Join us for answers, but follow your surgeon's orders. We are not medical, but can offer advice from our own perspective. Congrats! Karen
  18. No, you can get stuck anytime. If you get stuck continually after fill, you are probably too tight! karen
  19. Normal, and will probably get yellow and bluish even more before they are healed. Best wishes, Karen
  20. Cottage cheese is a a solid per my nutritionist! Stick with it, you are healing an could do damage to your healing process. You can do it, most of us have made it. As stated from by jlly_bean, I had a whole month of liquid, too. If you are going to do anything, try real liquidy cream of wheat, that was on my full liquid diet!Best wishes, Karen
  21. Looking good! happy Monday to you, too! No April Fool, here! Karen
  22. Awesome, seeing a stranger where a neighbor was, is exciting unless they call the cops, haha! great NSV.. Karen
  23. You are still healing. The port area is the last to heal. Did you do something that may have stretched or hurt that area? I made the mistake of lifting a small box and (as usual) using my belly to support my carrying it. OOOh! did I ever hurt and had to readjust that situation. Take care! Heal well. best wishes, karen
  24. My surgeon requires 2 days clear, and two days full liquids. This is to make sure that the swelling has gone down before trying to eat. I can see definitely that you after 7 years will need to follow your surgeon's instructions well as you will probably have swelling. Best wishes on your restart to you journey to a better you! Karen
  25. I, always, eat of a salad plate. When I 1st started with my pre-diet, 3 years ago, I used a child fork and spoon. I, now, use a salad fork along with my salad plate. When I set the table, my son and I get salad forks and plate(my son had surgery in 2011), and my hubby an d-i-l get full size plates and forks. You can fool your eyes and stomach with just this little help! Good wishes to all. Karen
