  1. 1st time I had a drink, I only needed 1 and felt I couldn't drive myself home. What a surprise that was. It hit me HARD. You can probably drink a little as a social drinker, but beware of calories, as others have said. Karen
  2. I had the same type of instructions. The 2nd part was so much easier than the 1st 2 weeks of Clear Liquids. Full liquids is so much easier. You can do it! Good luck. Karen
  3. Peanut butter is good for protein, too! I add it to my smoothies. Karen
  4. You look great; I, also had band slippage after loosing my goal weight. I have said all along, maintance is the hardest part of loosing weight! Karen
  5. No, I, also, took it before surgery for my 6 month diet. I lost 35 lbs before the lapband. But, I did not continue afterwards, as my surgeon only wanted me on it for 6 months. Not sure if your surgeon would recommend it for post surgery or not. Check if you think you need it. Good luck, Karen
  6. How are you doing? I had to have .5cc removed from a fill I had done on Wed. I lost 10 lbs in 5 days, because I also could not keep anything down. (then on Friday had a most "helpful" nurse suggest I call later when I said I had pb'd on a smoothy). I am so much better now, but still on liquids as surgeon said I am really swollen. Good luck to you. Hope that everything turns out ok. Karen
  7. Good luck to the both of you. It is 4 days pat your banding. Hope that you are starting to feel more normal. Karen
  8. Hurray! Jacquie! God is good! Karen
  9. I don't remember if I drank it pre-op. I didn't get it in the hospital, tho' But I, also, drink it at home. I use a little skim in it. I drink regular coffee, 1 or 2 in the am. I can't give it up; it gets me through the day. My bad! Karen
  10. Wow! Can't believe that you all don't get restriction with the band filled to over 9 cc. Mine is currently at 4 1/2 cc up from 2 1/2, I am so tight from fill yesterday, hoping that it loosens after swelling. I can feel the liquid sitting there just waiting to go down. I am not really happy right now, but hoping for relief once the swelling is gone! Goodluck for restriction I certainly have it now! Karen
  11. I think the funniest NSV I ever had was looking in a mirror at the grocery store, and not realizing that it was me in the mirror! This was, also, the day my daughter looked down an aisle and didn't see me, but I was there! Karen
  12. I agree with Heather. It is not the time between as much as listening to your body. My surgeon always asks me if I feel I need a fill. I had one yesterday. I was very tight. I can only sip liquids for now. My surgeon requires 2 days clear and 2 days full liquids. After yesterday, I can understand why. So, as I and heather said, just listen to your bands, if you are experencing hunger too soon, you would need a fill. Karen
  13. Yay! That is a major goal! Congrats. Karen
  14. Welcome Dl88, I am not a male. But have been on this journey for 2 years. I have had the good and the bad. I am in maintenance, now. That is tougher, to me, than loosing the weight. I have been yoyoing, but am back on track. Good luck in your weight loss journey. And your journey for a NEW life style. Karen
  15. I agree. take it from a lady that a slippage. You sound like you need to relax and take a light diet for a few days to let the swelling go down. Good luck, Karen
  16. Yay! That is one great NSV. You will look great in your brother's wedding pictures. Karen
  17. Hello Michael, congrats on your new life! Yes, my diet was that extreme. Infact, my surgeon requires 2 days clear and 2 days full liquid after a fill. I was hungry, too! It feels like forever, but you can get through it if you want to. Try protein Water, I think Special K makes some. Good luck. I am also in Florida. I have been banded for 18 months. Did you have Dr. Grossbard, by the way? Karen
  18. I totally agree with Dave. I, also, have Facebook. If someone asks me about weight loss, it is in a message. And only 2 or 3 know. They are the same ones that have asked me, many have commented, but few know the true weight loss story. Only my true real life friends and family are aware of my surgery. I have asked and commented to one of them, who have the gastric bypass. She was one of my inspirations. Karen
  19. Nice pictures. Keep up the good work.
  20. That's a great feat! Congrats to you!
  21. Sorry for all your problems. Good luck!
  22. Go in for a slight unfill. That should do it fine. Make sure that you are following your surgeon's guide lines about eating after a fill. Good luck. Karen
  23. Good luck with your journey to a new you! Karen
  24. I guess I am unusual. My port is to the left and about 4 inches above my belly button. It is well below the bra line, too. I can wear an underwire without problem. I am 18 months out, but even 1 month out I had no trouble. Karen
