Slipped band, surgery Friday
Were you able to have your band repaired? I am happy to hear that someone else has had this problem. While I was in the hospital, surgeon had a woman to reposition her band. She was only 6 weeks out! I doin't knmw her story as was told to my husband. Anyway, take care and good luck to both of us!

How Did You Know?
I try to stay around a size 8, I on the high end of normal weight. I am quite satisfied at that size. I can walk into a store pick up a size 8. Go home and it fits great! I find maintenance a hassle though. However, right now, I just had to have surgery to repair my band after slippage, so I have no fill and am on liquids, clear for a week, then full. So, I will probably end up being in a loose 8. But, I am happy at the size and weight I am. Plus. folks say I look good and any thinner I will look sick. I guess, it all depends on whether you like yourself at the size and weight you are! Good luck. Karen

Is this a crazy thing to do?
Me too! I had some real nice dresses that I bought fro church. Before I could wear one of them, it was way to big. SO I agree go for it, don't spend to much on clothes that you wear a few times. But, no problem with buying inexpensive smaller clothes when on sale. Good luck to all of us. Karen

Slipped band, surgery Friday
Hello everyone! I had my surgery Friday morning and was home before dark last night. Everything went great. I feel good. The surgeon was able to repair my band and NOT take it out to be replaced later. Yeah! So, now, I am starting the diet thing of clear liquids for a week and then full liquids for a week. Obviously, I can't bowl on Sunday night. So I will miss at least 2 weeks. Boo to that! Anyway, wanted to update everyone, I feel great(so far, as I am on pain meds, too). Thanks for your good wishes. Karen

Wow!, 82 lbs is great! I bet that you do look a lot different than your original photo. I got one of my IDs changed but not my drivers license. (I am just to lazy to stand in a long line for that). Anyway, it is good for me to have the old ID too, it remnds me where I came from. Congrats, I'll bet you look great! Karen

I LOST 100 POUNDS!! Before/ After pics
I forgot to add how much younger you look. My own son had his surgery on Aug. 5. He is doing real good too. He is down from over 300 to 246. I think the younger you are and male, the more successful you can be!( He is 36). Karen

Slipped band, surgery Friday
Here's my story. I had a fever and stomach thing last Friday. I started having severe GERD following. Tuesday I called the surgeon's offcie. I went in this morning and he put me in front of the floroscope. I had a slip; he removed all my fill. I had previously had a slip and it was okay after a month of no fill. The band did not go back into shape. He said, " I have to operate in the morning." He will try to repair it, but otherwise will have to remove it. It will be either empty or removed for 2 months. I am, almost, to my 2 year bandiversary, which is Oct. 30. I am 2 lbs below goal at 138. I have been at or near goal weight, give or take 5 lbs, for about 9 months. I am not sure that I can do it on my own. My family all seems to think I am ready. I am nervous. Karen

Not feeling right after stomach bug
My stomach has been weak after having a 1 day stomach virus. I am doing okay, today, but has taken 2 days to feel better. I am eating very small meals and if I over eat, I get sick feelings. The good part is that I lost about 5 lbs and have not gained any back since starting to eat. Hope that you feel better. Karen

What's that noise???
Yes! And usually while I am sitting in church! I sing in the choir, and we sit waiting patiently for our times to sing. It is very quiet, and then my rumbling will start. My lady friend says are you hungry? No, just rumbling tummy sounds! Haha! Karen

Light headed
It does sound like blood pressure. I had the same problem before my BP meds got reduced. I could not give my BP pill up completely, but take 2.5 mg pill. Good luck. Karen

Weight Watchers
I could never have done the 2 combined. My diet was and is too restrictive for that. I can't eat raw veggies, or most veggies. They want a lot of veggies. I can't eat their portions or bread, even the exchanges would be tough for me. But good luck if you can do it! Karen

Not sure if I'm where I am supposed to be
I have noticed that the people who have less to lose, lose it slower. My own daughter, has been slowly losing for almost 2 years, she is still 25-30 lbs from goal. But she is not gaining and she happy with the weight loss. She is very short, 4'11" and needed to lose about 50-60 lbs. It is taking her longer than me who needed to lose 100 lbs. Good luck, at least the scale is moving down! Karen

Bulimia After LapBand
Good luck, Victorialeigh. I agree. it can be threatening! I sometimes get the same feelings. But, I don't throw up all the time, and can stop myself from over eating. I am 2 years out as of Oct 30 this year. I think there must be success stories. I think Alex , the forum starter is a success story. Karen

Bulimia After LapBand
I believe that this is the reason that Sharon Osborn had her lapband removed! I, sometimes, force my self to vomit, but it is not because I eat whatever I want. I just sometimes know that what I ate won't pass thru, so in order to avoid major discomfort, I will force vomit! I do not consider myself bulimic! If that is what your problem is, then you probably do need to remove it, and go thru nutritional therapy! Good luck. Karen

Esophageal Spasms After Lap Band Surgery
It is only day 4 since your surgery. Calm down. Sometimes it is not so good to read what others think and feel like after they had their surgery. We all heal differently. Take care of yourself. Do lots of walking, it will help. Good luck and call your surgeon's office if you think something is wrong. Karen

Banded in october--updates please
I was banded on 10/30, I remember coming home on Halloween. I was intending to sit on the front porch, but ended up putting up a sign to help themselves as I had just gotten out of the hospital. I have lost 100 lbs and am at goal, but trying to maintain. I am fighting with 5 lbs. I enjoy walking into my favorite Dept store and grabbing a small shirt and size 8 pants and dress and having them FIT!!!! Good luck to all of us Oct. 2009 folks! Karen

Night Cough
You probably are eating too late. If I eat past 8:00 pm, I am up all night with GERD and coughing. But, if I do not eat late, I am fine! It could be a sign of being too tight, if the problem has only been since your fill. I suggest calling for a slight unfill before you get a slip! Good luck, have had both! Karen
