  1. I assume that by now you have had your slight unfill, Give us an update, hope that yiou are feeling better. My son has 7 cc in a 10 cc band. He is real tight but can still eat pretty good. He is discovering that some things he could eat at 5 cc he can't eat at 7 cc. He lost 9 lbs in 1 month, but surgeon is happy! He is happy too!
  2. Oh Happy day! Happy early birthday! Congrats to you!
  3. Welcome and congrats on the start of your journey! Best wishes. Karen
  4. No, my husband is so proud that he flaunts the fact that I lost 100 lbs and am attractive to him and other men! My husband gave up jealousy when I worked with mostly men and never gave him anything to be jealous of. I have been 120 to 255 and the ranges in the middle my married life. I think he is probably just real proud of your losses and wants men to know that you are with hiim! Be happy that you have a suppotive spouse who is proud of your accomplisments. Good luck, Karen
  5. Can'r say, but my surgeon wants us to stay on clear liquids fr 2 days and then full liquids for 2 days before returning to solids. Maybe you are swollen!
  6. Congrats on your weight losses, and happy birthday to you both!
  7. I, almost, always have used and still use a pillow to sleep on my side. I don't really need to , but find mysef more comfortable that way. I have had days where overeating will cause pain.
  8. I am, also, a cheap date! As far as drinks goes, I can tolerate about a 1/2 glass of wine. Tried champagne on New Years Eve, once again, I was tipsy at 1 glass to salute the new year. My son, who has been banded for 8 months, went out to the bar for Xmas party and got so drunk that he passed out, but not before vomiting 2 x. Drink if you like, but be careful, it might(won't say will) hit you quickly!
  9. I think that chnces ae pretty good. I had 2 slips, the 1st one, the band went back into place. The 2nd one, more serious than the 1st, I had to have surgery to reposition it. Good luck, Karen
  10. Best wishes to you and all new banders!
  11. Well, I think that you probably need to see your surgeon, again. It sounds like you need an upper gi to iliminate gall bladder! It can be very excruiating pain. My daughter went to emergency 2x before she broke down and had removal of her gall bladder. It is said, that after loosing alot of weight, you gall bladder acts up. I don't know, I had mine removed in 2001. But, come to think of it, I had lost about 40 lbs then! Good luck, feel better soon. Karen
  12. Wel, if we are voting, I vote slip! But none of us are doctors. Either call your surgeon's offcie or go see teh ER. But, don't play around with it. I had to have my Fluid all removed and then had to have my band revised due to a slip. (you can get liquids down). I was able to without trouble, but was up all night long retching. Don't wait! Good lcuk, Karen PS:it sounds like you have probably waited long enough, already!
  13. I agree with everyone, else. I lost all my excess weight and had surgery at 60 year old. My son, who is 37, lost 80% of his weigth, so far. He was banded in august 2011. Your weightloss is only as good as your committment! Our surgeon is not aggressive, but very knowlegdeable. You need to shop around. Unfortuantely, it might mean going out of network! Good luck, Karen
  14. I went on a cruise, shortly after having a slippage repaired. I was able to eat, but also, I was able to control my eating. I would suggest that if you can't control yourself from eating an 8 oz steak, for instance, you need to have a slight fill before your cruise. Just because the food is there, doesn't mean you have to eat your way through the cruise. They have lots of activities that you could enjoy, instead! Good luck to you and your new band.
  15. My biggest problem is finding room in an overflowing walkin closet!! Using my husband's side, now for summer clothes. I have a husband who loves to take me shopping and help me find my 8's. He loves a sale, and never liked my taste in clothes. I do have to remind him that I am 63 years old, and can't wear my dresses 3 inches above my knees for church.
  16. Happy birthday, and congrats on your weightloss and maintaining it!!!
  17. Sorry, you have done a great job. Good luck to your future weight loss! Keep us informed of your prgoress. Karen
  18. It is tough, but you can get through it, most of us did, and we are surviving! Good luck. Karen
  19. Congrats on your new buddle of joy! She is a cutie for sure! Now, depending on where you live, buddle her up, put her in a carriage and take her for a walk. It will give her fresh air and you exercise! You can get back on track, but by cutting your plate size and, also, using a small fork to eat with. I did that when I was on my 6 month required diet before insurance covered surgery. Good luck, and once again, congrats on your baby! Karen
  20. What a great NSV!! I love going into the dept store and grabbing something I like, and NOT trying it on. But, getting home and having it fit perfectly! Great thread and motivator. Karen
  21. You can have some clear broth, too! I liked beef bouliion. Best wishes on your new life! Karen
